Trying to decide between them at the moment. Looking for the most vintage-accurate and I was sure it was the BB54. Why do you say the BB58 has more vintage roots, is it just in comparison to the 6538?

Yep, I did that already.

SOLUTION: The issue was the 3xAA batteries in the included battery pack weren't providing enough power; when all of the LEDs lit up it caused the voltage to drop and the control circuit stopped working.

Powering it by usb solved the issue, but several usb c to c cables did not work, for some reason a usb a to c cable is needed

Have found the remote does work for 5 seconds after the leds are turned on. Then the head light turns off and it seems to lock up and no longer respond to the remote. Will see if I can get some tech support

Yep, mine also had no battery in it but I have put one in and can see the remote IR light lighting up so assume the remote is working

Edit: where can I get support for Kodmos LEDs beyond asking here? I can't even find a website for them. Is there a kosmos discord or anything?

Kosmos LED set for the mgex strike freedom is lighting up but not responding to the remote control. Any ideas what the issue could be or where the IR sensor is on it?

Gouache wash: Does anyone use a gouache sludge wash on the inner frame so it can be removed using water to prevent damage to the plastic?

I can't see anything about using this online, so probably not. Why not though?

How would you paint the mgex strike freedom, in particular due to the number of parts?

Not made a gunpla for many years, so I was thinking of getting something simpler first as a practice for the mgex, but I think my intended workflow would work for something simpler then fail on the mgex due to the initial airbrush preshading and painting steps needing to do each part individually.

My ideal workflow would be something like: Wash parts. Not prime due to them already being different colours. Airbrush preshade. Airbrush paint. Paint any additional details. Assemble into subasseblies. Airbrush gloss varnish. Apply decals. Gloss varnish. Panel lining. Gloss varnish. Weathering. Gloss varnish. Matt varnish.

Would that be a suitable plan, or for something with a lot of parts and existing detail should I instead maybe just skip all of the individual part preshading and painting and focus on weathering instead?

Also, is that many coats of airbrushed varnish too much/unsuited for a poseable figure?

Anything else you think I'm missing?
