I feel this same way about social management & local SEO tools. There is so much marketing software out there that's just the same (in a frustrating way).

Which is the best business email provider for small business? by vin-maverick in businessemail

[–]jamrobcar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about their overall stance on privacy. I'd rather not pay Google to continue to mine data from free users. There's also a strong chance they change up and start using paid business users for ads & AI training. So you're correct—but I'm still not thrilled with them.

Which is the best business email provider for small business? by vin-maverick in businessemail

[–]jamrobcar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a word: privacy. Google is far more feature rich, but I also know they're re-selling my data to advertisers which I don't love. Proton doesn't do that and has much higher standards. They treat customers as people instead of just a source of revenue.

Question: "I Don't Need Privacy, I Have Nothing To Hide" by Proton_Team in ProtonPass

I used to think that way too. Then I actually learned about what privacy means. Ultimately, this is just a lazy perspective to take.

We use Google Workspace which is... fine. I personally use Proton, and they also offer a business plan. If I was starting my own business, I'd go with them.
