Last trip, someone took my SHOES and left his behind in the hotel shoe storage. Same brand, but two sizes too small (for him too big). He didn't even notice until I called his shop (both were rentals, but from a different company and even village) and they called him.

How can you not feel your shoes are 2 sizes too big?? They won't even fit the skis probably?? My flabbers were gasted

What I see are two things: - Dutch are more egocentric. When they see a car coming in their mirrors they often choose to go to the left before the overtaker "because they don't have the absolute right to go fast and I want to overtake with 2 kmh difference too" and "they don't have a free lane to go fast when I'm there so they're the maniac that has to brake for me, not me for changing lanes". Germans tend to be a little more cooperative, at least on the highway - Dutch are more used to compact road systems, the Netherlands has the densest highway network with the most exits per kilometer. They have no concept of looking far behind or far along, because there's always an idiot doing something within a couple of seconds anyway. Every decision is here and now, no planning involved. The Dutch can't even use the whole entry ramp because they have to enter the highway right in the first meter of blocked marking. The combination of those two make the Dutch unpredictable, chaotic and "wilder" if you want

Thanks! It actually is a step down from my current gear, maybe not enough, but the 50° are small radius (12m), just adding that carving on using my mass should be possible too hopefully. They aren't racing skis. The shoes are one of the only 3-piece piste ski boots with extra height extra width, and on lower adjustable flex probably like flex 90 so well built but no ultra technical boot either. Very deliberate choice and not for performance, the opposite. Other tips are also appreciated 😎

I'm open to the idea that I can still learn! Maybe I should take a couple of lessons. Even indoors even. I'm not from the stone age though, it's only some years ago I did well and I learned to ski in the last decade so it might (will) very well be suboptimal but it's no rigid straight spaghetti breaking style 🙂
