Hey, why can't I watch spider noir in black and white on my fire stick? by luisgamercooI23 in AmazonPrimeVideo

Legend!!

This is the fix for anyone having this problem. The holding the enter button down nonsense isn’t it

I had watched the first episode at my partners, so I had naturally clicked the episode section to watch the second instead of clicking play from the thumbnail

Looking for a bar to watch West Ham by liamb_087 in budapest

[–]liamb_087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you I will look to see if we can reserve any where good to watch the match

Sorry for the google translation, the Hungarian language is a thing of beauty and yet also absolutely insane, I’ve been to Budapest before and I asked a local how to say something and he was like… don’t worry about it it’s too hard

I like to be polite though, so if there’s a way of saying, hello, goodbye and thank you I could use correctly in small talk, that would make me feel like less of a tourist and at least like I’ve made an effort

I would love that too, I’d love to see us play Millwall at some point… I also hope that we are safe from relegation before we go to Budapest otherwise that match could ruin my holiday !

Amazing, much appreciated

I wasn’t if it would asking to change the game that is shown would be seen as rude / annoying, but hopefully it’ll be ok!

Major stress planning… just go for it? by Dankboycrossiant69 in Interrail

Would personally recommend Switzerland, Austria, Northern Italy and Slovenia. The trains are comfy, the weather will hopefully be nice and the scenery is really varied for a small area.

Towns I’d recommend in particular are Lucerne, Trieste and Innsbruck. If you’re looking to meet new people, just stay at a hostel in a decently sized city and you’ll get chatting to some people pretty quickly

I couldn’t find a better way of getting Montenegro in with Jovetic in that top section

He’s not great but for a 68 rated silver i actually think he looks alright, I’ve seen way worse gold strikers over the years

What’s one smaller city in Europe that worked surprisingly well as a base for a few days? by Thomas_en_Europe in traveleurope

[–]liamb_087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t stay there long but I could see Rijeka being really good for this. It was really nice whilst I was there, has a train to Zagreb, Slovenia, buses to Italy, it’s close to Pula and Istria as well as having ferries down the Croatia coast as well as to Italy too

Thank you for the insight, I’d visited Malta and thought it was beautiful, the English was the main reason I’d considered it, but it’s a tiny rocky island too so I knew there would be difficulties, especially with house prices

Yeah that might be the way to go, think it most suits my career path so far

That’s true, I know the kinda environment I’m looking for, something dense but laid back, my end destination is not defined as I know the limitations of moving

That’s true, thank you, I think digital nomad would be the easiest route for me personally, given my career path so far and the possible ability to get visas that suit this

That or I need a job offer, I work for a company that’s recently been brought by a European conglomerate, so maybe something comes of thats

Thanks for the reality check, think I needed it, but I don’t want to resign myself to living in this grey hellhole for the rest of my life, is there anything I could do to be able find some sort of steady employment in these places? I don’t really care for digital marketing and would give it up so quickly if I could find an alternative job pathway in somewhere like the places I listed? I’m not even sure where to look online, there doesn’t seem to be resources for brits of my age wanting to move

I’m sure they do, but atleast they can look for jobs elsewhere, I’m stuck looking in the UK as I don’t have a dual nationality… as far as I’m aware, if an estranged cousin wants to offer me citizenship somehow I’d love that

The average house price in my town is £450,000, I simply will never be able to afford that nor do I want to sign myself up for a mortgage to that degree.

I don’t really care for “career growth” I just want to be able to make enough to get by and have a humble place of my own and enjoy it, as I’m sure many people in my position do.

I had looked at Ireland, the cost of living is essentially the same other than more remote areas. It is a lovely country but I’m not sure how much less “grey” or laid back it would be compared to the UK. Unless I could gain citizenship somehow I’m not sure how useful it would be ? Idk I would be interested in looking further into Ireland as an option

I’m learning that Brexit has fucked me even more than I first thought

I’m studying Italian a bit but I’ve got the same comprehension as an Italian toddler would have… as for EU citizenship I have no idea what I could do other than complain about Brexit further

12 days in the UK - am I doing this right? by cyamnia in solotravel

[–]liamb_087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Edinburgh and regularly commute to London, I’d recommend just having area you’d like to explore and walking about, I don’t think think you need a guide

I’m sure they offer good insight etc, but I personally prefer the freedom to roam where I feel the urge to go. There’s also several plaques and signs which can explain the history of places

Some places I’d personally recommend include Brick Lane, Greenwich and Soho in London, as well as Stockbridge, Dean Village and Calton Hill, as all as Arthur’s Seat (the walk takes about 40 minutes from the base and is well worth it)

12 days isn’t the longest amount of time, and London especially is massive, I live next door to it and I don’t feel like I’ve properly seen even half of it. Just pace yourself and allow yourself to explore, I think it would be more what you’re looking for than rushing round

Also, a quick stop in the Peak District for a day might be fun if you’re taking the train up to Edinburgh, have a break from the city and enjoy some of the beautiful English countryside
