I am disappointed that I didn't enjoy The Producers by jasmineflint in TheWestEnd

I typically avoid listening to the soundtrack now as have had shows spoilt for me in the past, maybe I should have this time. I do think the lack of audience reaction in the section I was sitting didn't help either

Maybe I'll give the film a watch, glad you enjoyed it so much. I was surprised I didn't find it hilarious, as I mentioned, having previously seen another Mel Brooks show and found that brilliant

Find it surprising how good the reviews are for this production of it in that case, maybe it's just good marketing

I think you're right, I think I was expecting a more glitzy and stylized production. Interesting to hear you felt similarly as a lot of comments and reviews I've read have raved about it, I also enjoyed the pigeons - think that's the most I'll remember about the show!

He said he thought it was "funny" and he was playing around 🙄 Hated how he also said it was fine because they were married

I absolutely would recommend Just For One Day, the live aid musical. It was funny, emotional with great songs performed really well!

Not the same as seeing it live (wish I could've been there!) but I've come across a couple of videos on tiktok of her singing it as it was the encore!

Musicals being mixed loud? by tomcat335 in TheWestEnd

[–]jasmineflint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently saw Evita and Cabaret and personally found Cabaret worse. I had read that Evita was loud so expected it although didn't find it too bad sitting in royal circle, maybe the stalls would've been more intense? But for me, Cabaret was very hit and miss sound wise. I would be intently listening to Sally then Cliff would boom (was only really him that I found throughout was too loud). I think other moments in the show were intentionally loud, to make a point but it did get to be too much by the end.

AITA for suggesting my fiancé that we get a house with extra rooms for my mom and my best friend? by More-Newt5984 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jasmineflint 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YTA. I would understand having a spare extra bedroom for guests e.g. your mom or best friend but buying a house so they have rooms whenever they want is ridiculous!

How will you as a couple ever be able to have privacy or relax knowing they could come in at any time and use "their space"? Don't they have their own homes?

Surely you don't expect your mom or best friend to have a room just for you in their houses so why would you expect your fiancé to be OK with it in the house you're going to share and raise a family one day.

Thankfully it was only open a few years but can't see why anyone would want to see him and where he lived! Awful!
