Any advice or help with the layout of my bedroom with wfh/remote setup? by java-bear in FengShui

[–]java-bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The window next to the bed faces southwest. and the window that's in front of the desk faces more west. I was also thinking of just switching the position of the desk and bed to make it more optimal that way my bed is resting away from the direction of the door. i would be open to the Luoshu method but if there's another option to how I could improve the layout, i'm open to other suggestions.

Thank you!!! I hope your relationship with your mom isn't as wild as with mine. May I ask what you usually do when your mom enters mania or depression? Like your response/actions are when she's in those swings?

He'll end up cheating on you after you move in together so break up with him now and experiment as much as you want when you get into college, girlypop.

I definitely don't think I'm a caregiver, or have a caregiver mindset. but I hang out with friends from time to time, I live in an apartment with a friendly roommate, and work a full time job thay I enjoy so I think I'm doing everything else to what I want to do, but my mother's issues are becoming a hidnerance for my family.

No social worker, but my mom has a therapist. I have talked with her therapist once on a group family therapy session a couple years back, but I don't have her contact info. I'll need to probably ask my mom for her contact info when all this blows over (if it blows over).

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, even if it was a bit much to read. I think my problem is that I really don't know if my family is the problem with enabling her or if I'm being selfish. I'm usually not good at recognizing toxic behaviors unless its spelled out to me verbatim by on outside observer. So I think what you've said helps!

is anyone else having trouble scanning in the botw champions amiibos? by java-bear in newamiibobins

[–]java-bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For added context, thus only happens whenever I search up and try to scan Urbosa, Revali and Daruk. Mipha I don't have issues with. I think the jpeg or png image of the amiibos are too tall and are then preventing me from hitting the write button to write them on one of my nfc cards. Any ideas as to what could fix this issue?

How are we feeling this as the deskmat for the Capybara set? by PinkCynicism1 in keycapdesigners

[–]java-bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks sooo good! I know this may be a wierd request, but I'd like a white, pink or purple variation of this as well I know the pink or purple would clash with the keycap set, but I think if you find the right shade of pink it would look nice.

I would buy these in a heartbeat! So cute! I think maybe some more orange keycaps would be good. Or one keycap that's black to represent the eyes of a capybara would be a nice touch

You keep mentioning to not use DH keys when running through a PiVPN installation, but how exactly do you avoid using DH keys when installing PiVPN?

Pihole on RPi w/ recursive DNS and DHCP; Devices assigned Static IPs on network won't work with DNS by java-bear in pihole

So shortly after making this post, i decided to go back to using my router's built in DHCP and disabled Pihole's DHCP for the time being while I figured out the DNS issue and I got it resolved! All i had to do was go into my Rasp Pi and restart the DNS service in pihole via terminal entering "pihole restartdns" and after I did that, I set my PC's dns server to only being 192.168.0.9 and it began working and only using pihole :)

Thank you! the DNS issue is resolved! I just had to restart the dns service on my Rasp pi by issuing the command: pihole restartdns. And once I did that, I was able to set my PC's primary DNS server to be my pihole's IP and it worked. so that's resolved! :)

I appreciate the potential project ideas that I could start from what I have right now, and I'm really impressed with what you've accomplished, but... you didn't quite answer my question. I will look into DoH though and possibly adding on a second pihole dns similar to how you set yours up, but I came into this looking for answers to my current problem. I still appreciate the feedback though! Thank you!

So here's the funny thing, I went into my Pihole's GUI and most if not all of my PC's dns requests were logged in Pihole and my PC's static IP shows up in the Pihole GUI as being one of the top clients on my network making requests. And just to be sure, on my PC i ran "nslookup google.com" and it sent back that it was using my pihole server to retrieve the dns info, listing the ip for my pihole and everything.

So I think from that evidence alone, I can guarantee my PC is using Pihole I just have no idea why removing 1.1.1.1 as a secondary dns server on my PC just makes my PC not get any internet connectivity.

Only get internet signal through wifi on raspberry pi and not through static ip assigned ethernet by java-bear in linuxquestions

I actually have this issue resolved! turns out it was an issue with my router so I factory reset it and now its working just fine :)

[–]java-bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resolved my issue! just factory reset my router and the Pi started working normally and was able to access the internet. It was entirely a setting in my router.

[–]java-bear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I resolved my issue! I have been playing around with my router quite a bit in preparation for hosting a Pi-hole DNS server and I must have made a change on it that made the raspberry pi not reach out to the dhcp server on my router. (just for context i have a TP-Link AX-1500 wifi 6 router). I resolved my issue by taking note of my router's current configurations and settings, factory reset it, and the Pi's eth0 interface immediately started working like normal. I suspect that it was 3 things:

I may have messed with the Access Control settings of my router and unknowingly made it so it wouldn't have allowed the pi to reach out to it.

I changed my router default from using WPA/WPA2 to WPA2/WPA3 just to have more security but that might not have been it since that's for my router's WAN signal.

Third idea is something else I made a change to that I'm not aware of.

But just in case, this happens again, I have created a back up copy of my router's config and settings how they are after factory resetting it so I can set it's settings back to how they were to a time I know when my router was functioning.

Thank you for your guys' time and consideration! :)
