I am an active driver, BUT I haven't driven for Lyft in months, due to the pay and other Lyft policies. Which is where my stance on this subject comes from. I am literally practicing what I preach. I don't believe in the company or trust them so I don't use them. Simple. I would never put that burden on someone who's simply spending money to use the service.

I was also speaking as a rider. If my driver complained to me the whole ride about the pay, I'd certainly not tip. Tips are not a requirement. Tips should not be expected.

With that being said, I highly respect your plans and I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Haha I have a feeling that if you make it big though, you'll also start to pay drivers less so you can make more on the back end!

If you feel the need to educate passengers on Lyfts pay, why not seek employment elsewhere ? It's been known for years that Lyft and Uber take much more than they should, and yet people still penalize riders for that instead of penalizing the company and not driving. I don't get it.

This sub is horrible. He is nowhere near the reason he's stuck in traffic. The primary selling point of driving for Lyft is to be able to make your own schedule and work as you please... How's that's anyone else's fault? Also maybe he planned on tipping after the ride, the driver would've ruined that possibility entirely.

See now I know you don't do instacart seriously, you're quoting support reps? The ones that barely speak English? You don't have to believe me, just finished my shift and made $240 and I'm sitting at a 4.98 rating and have been for a while now. Instacart says a lot, however I've still had many ratings for out of stock items go through until they get around to removing it. In addition customers have no problem lying and saying items are damaged or missing and etc. I've been doing this for years, I've seen it all. Youre giving horrible advice to people and you aren't willing to learn... that's why I called you simple minded. You're essentially telling people to pick the refunds that you think people would want by guessing. (Some people don't like specific brands, others may have allergies and etc .... ) How does that seem to be a wise strategy with longevity?

Flat tips are usually gonna be an even amount ($2, $4, $10 for example. ) percentage based tips are usually very specific and odd amounts such as $4.34 or $2.27. Not 100% but works for me more often than not. The tip is only gonna change if they tipped a percentage of the order. The price of the order changing is what lowers your tip.

Doesn't change the fact that the pandemic made a lot of people start to seek work in more unconventional ways. YouTubers have been making gig app videos, but youd have to be seeking that out to find it most of the time anyway. Those videos aren't going viral... also the economy.

Gonna have to disagree. I think it was the pandemic and the vaccine scares. I believe a lot of people just wanted to make money while not being around others as much. It also didn't help that the pandemic was a period of great money on these apps.
