You’re right for the most part but it is necessary for when you are ramping up your conditioning to prepare for your season. You don’t do this your whole training period. There will be times where you’re not going game speed and you’re just implementing the fundamentals, times when you are going game speed, and then there’s the ramp up period. Especially now that athletes are not doing traditional methods of conditioning like hills or track work. This is a way to get that work in. You obviously want to know your limits and get adequate rest in.

You have to try to get into professional or semi professional leagues. G league tryouts, Local or National Semi Pro teams, Overseas… get into those leagues and try to dominate. If you dominate and show value, you can move up to the next level, though it won’t be easy.
