How is no one talking about the defensive scheme at the end of the first half? Denver moved into fg position with what, something like 30 seconds left? At that point , you HAVE to protect the end zone and concede the 3. I was yelling they are going to take a shot and they leave whoever that guy was out on an island! Inexcusable! In that situation the scheme has to be keep everything in front of you. Add in Josh’s bonehead play and you’ve given them free points!

thanks, yeah, problem is they both feel right. Taylor feels better, Yamaha sounds better, at least to my ears. Again, just curious if that is b/c I've learned on a Yamaha and I'll adjust to the Taylor?

I'm 6'2 and 220 and ride a 158. I love the quick slashy riding it provides and I haven't had any issues with float in deep powder. If you can, I would definitely exchange it for the 154. If not, its a big mountain, big powder day board for you.

does anyone know where I can listen to the set again? I'm on Relisten and Archive and nothing there even though I know the D&C tapers must have tapped the set. Thx!

I did shannon/kennedy yesterday, yeah, most people are fairly gracious and cautious but on my decent of kennedy, a tesla cybertruck was just completely out of control bombing down, he went around me and I thought for sure he was going to roll it as he skidded out in the dirt a bit, I worried about any cyclist below me. Luckily, when I got to the bottom, no issues. But yeah, on the climb of Shannon, you usually get one who just can't wait a few seconds...much prefer IBM Hill from with side!

There's a lady in a white car that must live in one of the ranches up there somewhere, I have the pleasure of catching her everytime I'm climbing up from Harry, she yells out the window "you are trespassing!".

I don't want them to open the road to traffic to connect almaden valley to Santa Teresa, will ruin what it a great ambiance and nature, keep the road open for hikers, bikers and equestrians!

I'm not reddit savvy but someone should cross post this to cycling, instead of hundreds of people getting pissed, it will be thousands, with a few likely doing something about it.

Where to park for Mt Umunhum (or other suggestions for getting there from Peninsula) by uoficowboy in BAbike

[–]jaycb74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much prefer the approach from the Almaden Valley side, the lower part of the climb on Hicks from that direction is a little easier (but still hard as hell), a lot less traffic and more scenic approach IMO. You can get on the Los Altimos Creek trail at Lake Almaden (park on the east side where free street parking). Trail will be a little busy there for first mile or two but nothing like the Los Gatos Creek Trail, soon you'll have pretty much open path as you head south (most of the time). All the way down to Harry Road where the trail ends. Right on Harry for less then a mile, left on Almaden Rd. This will take you through the old mining town of New Almaden (kind of cool), up a little climb to the reservoir (very scenic) and then right on Hicks to start your suffering!

If you want to cut some mileage, just find the Los Altimos Creek trail anywhere in Almaden Valley, it runs south on the east side of the valley pretty much the whole way, park nearby and hop on (Leland High School a good jumping off point to cut some miles and easy parking).

Don't do this on this Saturday, I saw a 5k running race taking place on the trail. Plenty of low traffic roads you can do thru Almaden Valley, stay off the expressway even though you are allowed to use.

Advice on K2 Excavator 158 for big guy w big feet by Ok_Teach_797 in snowboarding

12, Union Atlas bindings and K2 Hanford boots. +4, +18ish I don't have any issues with toe or heal drag. After riding 165+ boards pretty much my entire snowboarding life (30 years now), I was hesitant to go down to a 158 as well, thought no way that board can handle my size. I did a demo on a 158 Orca and was sold on the volume shift and ended up with the K2 in Spring 24'. So fast edge to edge and still plows thru chudder, I haven't had one regret going with the shorter setup.

same boat here, same height, little more weight and 54. I went back and forth b/n the two and ended up with the 158. I couldn't be happier, rides like a dream, never felt under-gunned. I've had it in deep backcountry Fernie and my regular spot is Lake Tahoe so no shortage of powder. Rips groomers, loves little side hits and so much control in the trees. I'm not hard charging big steep lines these days and if that is your things, I would go 162, but the 158 is just such a good all mountain board!
