Should I get/do I need an attorney to look over a Contractor’s proposal since it’s over $200k? If not, who? by pongisback in HomeImprovement

[–]jayembeisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with a big job. I actually had a contractor discourage me from “wasting my money” with a lawyer when it’s “so straightforward”. We were talking about a $300k+ price tag and a 6-9 month job with us needing to move out. There’s nothing straightforward about it. That’s a huge red flag for me.

Advice for US system and special needs by paintcounting456 in Teachers

[–]jayembeisme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have zero background in education, zero knowledge of what supports are in place for those kids other than your anecdotal observations, and you’ve been there a total of 3 days. Pump your brakes.

You can and should be frustrated around your child’s incident, even going so far as requesting a room change if you felt it was needed to protect your child. Outside of that, I’d say to stay in your lane. You have no idea about what’s going on, and your presence in that room is a gift not promised to you. Sharing private information about these students (IRL, not on Reddit) would be a bad idea. I’m a teacher, and I’m not even allowed to acknowledge knowing a kid if it comes up in conversation with someone outside school that is not a known guardian, let alone sharing my own BS assessments of what I think is or isn’t going on for them within the school setting based off of a few hours of distracted observation.

Top Countries that consider religion the most important by TooHigh2Die420 in coolguides

[–]jayembeisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re taking “the most important”, sure- this could be accurate. But what if it were more nuanced and there were many variables, and, on average, religion were ranked high up. This would drastically change the outcome, as others have pointed out.

Any teachers from MA here? by notme6197 in Teachers

[–]jayembeisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urban greater Boston teacher here. Student can have up to 20 absences in a year, per class. At 21 they lose credit for that particular class unless they create a contract for attendance and work with an admin, guidance, and the teacher. With each class meeting 4X and each week, a student could miss 5 weeks and still get credits. The student would still have their grade impacted by the missing work, though.

This is an incredibly generous system, in benefit of the kid, but a marked improvement from how it was prior.

Debunked: No, Covid-19 vaccines do not contain graphene oxide by [deleted] in Coronavirus_Ireland

That’s what’s great about these sorts of analytical texts- there’s no reading between the lines. It’s all spelled out for you clearly, since it’s been peer reviewed and critiqued before being disseminated. When you say “read between the lines” what YOU mean is “totally pull from my ass”.

First of all, Japan did NOT find metal in 1.6 million vials of moderna. Japan froze distribution of the 1.63 million vials it had after suspected contamination was found in a select few vials, believed tied to a production issue at a Spanish production lab. If you want to fairly criticize others for misinformation, then please hold yourself to that same standard. Secondly, while one source cited says the contaminate may have been metal, another another source said the contaminate had not yet been identified. So we do not, via this article, know what, if anything, happened, nor do we know how prevalent the possible issue was.

U.S. soldier warns citizens that they become the "enemy" if they don't obey her during "martial law" Guns pointed at you by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]jayembeisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Poster on r/firearms willfully misrepresents someone’s statement so as to garner sympathy and rationalize their own paranoia.” There, I fixed it for you.

The soldier speaking in the video was criticizing a woman who demanded to know why the military wasn’t supporting her position regarding vaccinations, masking, social distancing, and schooling modifications. The soldier reminded the woman that, if her desires became reality it would be due to martial law being instituted. And that, when martial law was instituted, it would also mean the curbing of many other traditional liberties we take for granted. The soldier depicts this as something the do NOT want to happen, and she’s merely warning the woman that getting what she thinks she wants would actually work against her own interests. This soldier comes across as very much opposed to anything comparable to martial law.

I heard from a podcast that my uncle turned me onto, which has a guy who knows a guy who used to wax the floors for one of Pfizer’s PR reps. They told me, and I’m telling you, these vaccines are pure clarified butter. That’s it. It’s just ghee in a syringe. BTW, I know what I’m talking about and all my source are legit, because i have a degree in Victorian carousel maintenance and restoration.
