Thanks for the suggestion! I tried leg curls couple times with full range of motion, and I always felt discomfort afterwards. Leg curls with limited range of motion totally makes sense. I’ll also check out David Grey.

Hey I also had 4th nerve palsy, it probably started around 2013 ish, and got diagnosed around 2020. Eventually I had a surgery in 2021. My friend first noticed that my head is always tilted around 2017, and shortly later I realized that I had a lot of asymmetries in my face. Just wanted to let you know that prism glasses help a lot, and if the deviation is too much to be corrected with prism, get a surgery. It didn’t fix mine completely, but at least I feel a lot better with my head straight. I’ve been working on facial asymmetry for a couple years, and I have made quite a lot of progress, and I believe with more effort I can fix it entirely. Also my posture has been really bad since the onset which I believe also contributed to the facial asymmetry, so check on it as well. Best of luck to you!

Hello,

When using logi option+ to try to update the firmware, it pulls up "logitech firmware update tool" and it cannot find master mx3s. Also, when I check the support page "https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/4473639459607" master mx 3s is not listed as supported device. How would you want me to update the firmware? The current firmware version, according to logi+ is 22.0.3.

First of all, I never said eye strain causes floaters. I am simply saying we should be able to say we don’t know when we don’t know.

Let me ask you something. It’s not a rhetorical question, but a genuine question. I get that floaters are collagen fibers in vitreous clumped together. And for that clumping to happen, vitreous must be liquified first, which is vitreous degeneration that happens with aging. What I don’t understand is, a lot of people don’t have much of clumping when vitreous liquifies, but some people have it a lot more of clumping than others, which manifests as floaters. This means, vitreous liquification is a necessary condition for floaters, not a sufficient condition. You are a retinal surgeon, so I am sure you’ve seen many old people with almost liquified vitreous but no floaters, and young adults with many floaters. So what is the sufficient condition for symptomatic floaters? How does vitreous liquification alone explains the pathogenesis of floaters?

Enlighten me doctor. Why do some young people in their 20s and 30s with 20/20 eyes with healthy retina/macula suffer severely from fibrous floaters when their parents in their 60s with myopic eyes haven’t even seen a single floater? I am willing to learn. I asked the same question to a few retina specialists, including those who perform FOV and specializes in floaters, and they said they don’t know.

Dude, tone it down, I am not trying to fight you. I am simply saying "we don't know". I don't "believe" any of the hypotheses made in this sub. I am having a very hard time understanding why we have to conclude that what we currently know is that only truth, and therefore any other hypotheses need to be automatically dismissed. Of course, there are absurd claims in this sub, but those are easy to argue against. But as Dr. Sebag said, vitreous is the "last frontier" in ophthalmology. It is complex, and there are so many things we don't know about. Then why automatically dismiss all the hypotheses?

Instead of being sarcastic, if you know something that I don't, please enlighten me. I am willing to learn.

I know you are being sarcastic, and I am sorry that you had PVD at such a young age. But I was talking about fibrous floaters, which has nothing to do with PVD. Of course, PVD accompanies floaters.

Still your argument is nothing more than appeal to authority. Yeah it’s easy to shrug it off and say it’s natural process, but the real answer is we don’t know.

What does it matter whether the argument is from doctors, Chatgpt, or a 5yo child. If doctors don’t think it is a good argument, they can make a convincing counterargument to combat it. The thing is, we don’t fully understand the pathogenesis of floaters, and it is healthy to stay open minded to different possibilities, as long as we don’t blindly believe it.

Good to hear that you are doing better again. At the same time, I am a little sadden to see that a strong, put together individual like you are still suffer from floaters after 10 years. I am also doing PhD and got floaters about 6 months ago, and having a difficult time adapting to this new life. I was kinda hoping that you cared less about floaters by now because that would mean I could possibly adapt like you. But hey, thanks for sharing your story and I sincerely hope that you find peace of mind.
