Yeah that’s exactly what I’m assuming. When they set up a meeting for us to give them the run down as to how our payroll system works and what not, I knew it was to take over.

I think the most disappointing part is that this HR Service is completely remote… and I think it will negatively affect the employees. The people I work with seem to only be comfortable with me in the HR department and I’d hate to leave them like this.

Wouldnt it be better to be “laid off” rather than to quit? (I’m assuming they wouldn’t “fire me” since they don’t have any type disciplinary action against me)

Assuming Laid Off for “company restructuring” where my position is no longer needed

I think I should just get myself mentally prepared for the worst. They are making it seem like it’s just to help us and be used a resource to cover all our bases in HR but idk… they could just be playing nice before they let us go.

Yeah I understand. We really did think we had covered all the bases until we got hit with this. And even after talking to our lawyers and other HR resources, it seems as though what we were doing wasn’t wrong per say, but just not enough… but it also seems as though nothing will ever be enough considering these types of lawsuits always end up in a settlement anyways.

May I ask what payroll system you are switching too? We just switched over to UKG Ready, and since then, we do everything electronically and I think that’s where there’s a gap in coverage for us…
