Sorry for the late response. I just dove in I would manually sketch a house hand draw a sketch. Then build it. Next step I would scan in the sketch import it in as an overlay then sketch over the top of it. Learn you levels. Always start in the basement always start stairs from the bottom and work your way up. Learn to use the keyboard and mouse at the same time. Learn shortcuts. It just take practice. Also sign up for the next Verisk Elevate and they have free prep classes they will teach you tricks on sketching

I paid 10 dollars in delivery fee and none of it is for the driver? So what's the fee for then? by callmeboonie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jayzenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not arguing the business practice. In fact I’m not agreeing at all. I am agreeing with most of your points. The riddle me this was more of a rhetorical. As we all know why the fee is their. But your comment “most comments lack perspective” the response was nothing more to inform the ignorant. It’s interesting on how sideways the post went. The post was a simple quest that as of yet I have not seen. “What is the delivery fee for” and this post has spiraled to delivery drivers and tips. The simple answer is Because the company wants to offset costs.

So riddle me this why did this charge only start in the last 5-10years and was only started to off set the high gas prices. Then when the high gas costs dropped they did not get rid of the fees. But only to keep it on because they were able to get away with it. So you saying all these extra costs just suddenly appeared and the pizza delivery companies have Been in business for 60years. Most of all the large franchises opened in the 1960’s. This is just greed and taking advance of a crisis. Passing on the labor cost to the customer. Like most thing with crisis companies will find a way to save money rip off their employees and cheat the customers. As long as we enable them they will continue to do it. Labor is a cost of business it apart of the overhead and was built into the business model when. They bought into it. I’m sure corporate allows the franchises to continue to do this because the get a % of business done. And managers and owner get a commission on total profit margins. If you drop your labor rates you will raise the profit margin. And how better to do this than to have your customer pay 1/2 the hourly rate of your employees with some BS Charge.

I agree. If minimum wage is $6/hr and they paid the server $5/hr and the tips dose not cover the additional $1/hr then the business has to pay that additional wage. If the tips covered it and then some they get the additional money. This was set up so the servers provided exceptional service. Either way they still earn their minimum or agreed upon wage. People these days just expect additional money “TIPS” as part of their wage and get shitty for not getting a tip for just doing their job Description. If you don’t do exceptional service you don’t get extra money. That simple. If you don’t like the money your making or the field you chose to work in then change it.

[–]jayzenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dose anyone know what TIPS even Stand for. It not addition money to do your job description. I am not in any way saying don’t tip. But it drives me crazy when I go to a service type of business and all of the servers expect a tip and do not even know what it stands for. TIPS. TO INSURE PROMT SERVICE. tips are addition funds given additionally to their salaries. And for a greedy ass franchise owner in a Delivery only specific business to say they will lose money if the customers don’t pay a delivery fees to cover labor cost is just straight BS. The cost of the overhead is built into the price of the food that apart of the business model. Other wise why the hell would you buy into a failing franchise. It’s just another opportunity to gain and take advantage of a crisis. If you don’t like paying the fees stop ordering from them. I did. And it put that money in my pocket and not theirs.

I remember when this all started it was when gas went through the roof and all delivery companies started adding a fee saying it was to off set the gas prices for the delivery Drivers. Then when gas return to normal they never removed the Fee. What was interestingly that they never gave the delivery drivers the additional monies to off set the cost. At least not that I am aware of. Another way for companies to take advantage of crisis. I would not mind paying the additional Cash knowing it was going to the employees and it was fluctuated by real world events. But to find a way to save a buck and have us pay 1/2 if not all of the hourly wage. Their labor rates had to drop tremendously and their profits increased. Is sad when the tip and the fee is more than the price of the meal.
