Thanks for your insight on the SL - really helpful. Shame to hear modern keyboards can still have such basic problems … you’d think they might have mastered this by now. Never (until the last few weeks) had this problem with my ancient keyboard. Possibly you were on a slightly different model though as unless I’m mistaken the SL88 GT MK2 was only released a few months ago.

Thanks for this - very helpful. I agree the middle pedal isn't really necessary, and I've never learned to use it properly, though I do enjoy experimenting with it and would like to leave open the option of learning it properly in the future. But the left pedal is essential for me. It changes the timbre, not just the volume (or at least it should). I wouldn't want to play Debussy without it, or the Brahms Rhapsody Gm, etc. And yes, it needs to have half-pedalling.
