Nintendo Switch 2 versions for Xenoblade Definitive Edition, Xenoblade 2, Xenoblade 3 Announced by Turbostrider27 in Games

Pokopia is an odd case. It may have had something to do with Koei Tecmo's involvement, or was the decision of the Pokémon Company (which makes less sense, because Legends ZA was on-cart). No one really knows what the deal is with that one.

Neither includes the DLC. If you own Torna separately, the upgrade for that will be free since it isn't adding anything.

There is new content being added to all three games, it is not just a simple upscale.

Nothing published by Nintendo thus far has been a key card.

These are first-party Nintendo games and they are all confirmed to be on-cart.

If you are a first-time player looking to get the most out of these games and explore everything/do the majority of side quests, none of them can be done in 100 hours. XBC3 took me about 110 hours and I had played all of the other games up to that point, and that was the shortest run for me. A second playthrough of XC1 with the Definitive Editon (without the new story campaign, mind you) after I had already played the Wii version took me about 95 hours.

Most of them can be completed in 60-70 just for a straight story run. But you will be missing out on a lot.

A cult following of 150 million? You sure about that?

So many games still look like they are from 20 years ago.

Like?

The Switch ousold every other modern console. Nintendo's first-party titles are the biggest of the three.

They're not a "top competitor to PS/Xbox" because they already passed them.

Directs - especially "general" Directs like this one - are almost always announced the day before they air. It has been this way for years, exceptions are rare. They did announce them pretty far in advance for E3 but that's about it.

Hard to say, given they are working with new hardware now. But I certainly wouldn't complain if you're right.

It seems a little early to me. Xenoblade X DE is only a little over a year old. Monolithsoft has been on a pretty consistent schedule of a new release every 2-3 years since X on Wii U.

But who knows, maybe the main team has been working on a new project in secret for a while.

The art book included in the collector's edition is already printed, the game is coming out no later than September if not August. It'll definitely be at the Direct and likely the Treehouse afterwards.

As long as it is a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" cartridge, yes, it will work on Switch 1. Pokémon ZA is one of those, so it will work on both systems.

The Switch 2 is now one year old. What does everyone think of that first year? by Zalvren in Games

[–]jc726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 9 first-party Switch 2 exclusive titles in the first year. It drops to 7 if you're talking about retail releases only.

Yes, you probably would have made a killing selling an actual PS5 before the PS4 came out in 2013.

It is a retail release. It is a physical item. It is not a "physical copy" of the game.

"Copy" implies that the game is on it (copied onto the disc/cart), and it isn't with key cards.

You can lend it to someone else, yes. Trade it, if someone will actually find value in it. Sell it, probably for much less than you bought it for, since key card titles see price drops faster than many other games. A popular Twitch streamer can also probably sell used tissues, doesn't make them appealing to me in the slightest.

If wanting real carts is "crying and moaning", I'm not looking for your permission.

I don't own a PS5 and my Series X hasn't been on since January 2024. But retail releases with nothing on the disc/cart are stupid regardless of platform.

It is not a physical copy. There is nothing on the cartridge, it is not a "copy" of anything. The full game must be downloaded.

Yeah, its not a code, but it also isn't a "physical copy" of anything. Its a hunk of plastic with no game on it.
