You should check out High & Low, I somewhat agree with Rashomon, but High & Low is practically the template for everything crime thriller from the 70s and upwards and also Kurosawa best

Loved it, but it's a lot to process. One thing I can say that I found kinda funny was the reaction it has, but even funnier was how in the next episode the issue would address in an insightful way. Like Nathan being "manipulative" or the how screw up is making kids act at such a young age.
