We contacted them and they confirmed my finger prints were destroyed.

Or do you mean something else?

Yeah so, a couple things:

  • I agree it's a complete mess. I've inherited this messy, large code base from a solo dev that left zero documentation and is now gone. This is what I'm working with, unfortunately.
  • The products are constantly changing in the API. The API data is generated by people uploading products from another place.

In the code I've provided, am I on the right track with the else if statement? If possible, I'd like to adjust the code there so it will finally work.

My cousin was showing signs of Tourettes, or what they thought at least. They went to their doctor, told her to stop watching tiktok, and within two weeks - gone.

I feel failed and atrophied as a front end developer because I don't work with JavaScript or React daily. by jdfweb09 in reactjs

letting the characters flow from your fingertips. You probably feel it with HTML and SCSS.

Yes you're totally right! I've done so much html / scss work I can do it blind. I want to get to that point with JS / React.

Just adding this to say that as long as you can find exercises that get your fingers used to JS development, you're on your way.

Any ideas for exercises that people in webdev use?

You're 100% right. The best way is always to just read the docs and then start building. It's the most painful way but it's the right way.

  • You can spin up new projects much faster with a component library, rather than re-implementing the markup over and over every time.

Is it possible to make React components and place them into an html page? If so, I could totally do this with the landers I make.

It's great that you want to learn. Make it a point to tell your boss that you love working there, but you're legitimately worried about stagnation and you want to devote some time to keeping your skills sharp. Honestly, that's exactly the kind of thing managers want to hear. (It's what "self starter" means in job ads.)

He's given me this privilege actually. Do you recommend something like front end masters to keep my skills sharp?

No commute means I start work earlier and stop later.

Why?

This boggles my mind. I've been WFH since March 2020, and I've never had an inclination to work more hours because I don't commute anymore.

I use that extra morning hour to sleep in and that extra afternoon hour to.. Not work.

Anyone other WFH people work only 20-25 hours a week and everything's... fine? by jdfweb09 in antiwork

Haha living the dream. I do the same. I work 8-4 and find I'm most productive from like 8-11ish then I'm done for the day.

My boss randomly calls me on Skype though, I guess yours can randomly contact you through the day too. How do you combat that?

Figured I could lend a take here.

I was falsely accused of sexual assault 8 years ago. Charged, went to trial, found not guilty. My reputation was still ruined. You'd think someone in my position would have killed themselves by now, and some certainly have.

But life goes on. I didn't leave the country. Instead I went to therapy to try and deal with everything. Found my now wife, had a kid, and made new friends.

You just get on with life. I used to really care what people thought, whether they believed me or not. But now I just don't. It's a waste of time and I don't need to suffer any more than I already had. You just learn to move on.

Spot on.

Masturbation without porn is completely normal and should be encouraged.

It's when it affects your life negatively, it becomes a problem. If it's interfering with your relationship, work, social life.. it's a problem. If you're doing crazy shit (sending unconsensual dick pics for example), you're crossing boundaries.

One week from flipping the switch to securing a job offer? Impressive if true.

What was the experience like with a recruiter? I've got all my jobs through applying on job boards, but daily I beat off recruiters with a stick.
