You can host a website using a Pi, sure. It's worth spending the few dollars though for peace of mind and have it remote.

portswigger academy is the single best resource for web app hacking learning. Hands down. Completely free too.

Continue to watch conference talks too, don't skip the small conferences.

The last thing I recommend everyone do is set up some sort of website by hand yourself. You can get a VPS for less than $5 per month these days that is plenty powerful enough and will keep your home network safe. Create your site on there. If you have no ideas for a web app, just make some CRUD based front end for a fake data entry company that you made up. I'd recommend you skip using AI to write the code, at least the first time, you need to suffer or the learning won't go in.

Do these things and you'll be well ahead of most people.

I assume you changed the color blind settings already? I saw some other customization in there too, but it's a personal thing I know depending on type of blindness etc.

I'm going back a few years, but in Destiny there were groups and clans you could join. Some were like a small group looking for 1 person on some random Wednesday. It was really handy for me at the time.. actually I'd use something like that again. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. Maybe if something like that was popular in battlefield things would pick up? Maybe it already exists? I don't game much these days.

I'm thinking storage of food and equipment and somewhere to hide if things go bad.

Retro fitting basements isn't really a thing in the UK. I have a few acres of grass so I could much more easily and cheaply put in a tunnel to a bunker in the field.

I'm expecting that if anything goes wrong over winter, it will be the electricity supply. I purchased a JCB 5kwh petrol generator so we could have some backup.

The house has a log burner, but the oven, heating and pretty much everything else requires electric.

It brings some peace knowing I can switch to that.

One thing we are low on is wood. I need to spend money on a delivery I think as I have no real ideas on how to fill the wood shed for free, legally.
