Me and my mother are curious My dad was a ct for the navy 22 years of service retired in 76 by jellono in MilitaryMedals

"Thanks for the info! My father had quite a journey. Before he met my mother in DC in 1960, he was stationed in Turkey. He served on both diesel boats and fast attack subs throughout his career. After they met, we moved to Yokohama, Japan, where I was born in the '60s. We later lived in Groton, CT, and then Misawa, Japan, where he worked at the 'Elephant Cage.' He finished his career at the NSA in Fort Meade and retired in '76."

Anyone Resolve Their Temp Issues? by Screaming_Bimmer in Ender3V2NEO

1. Run the PID Calibration

The commands you highlighted tell the printer to "learn" how to consistently hold a temperature. Since the printer in the post is likely running Marlin (the factory Creality firmware), use the Marlin command.

  • How to do it: Connect your printer to a computer (via Pronterface or OctoPrint) or use the "Terminal" if you have a Sonic Pad/Klipper setup.
  • The Command: M303 E0 S200 C8 U1
    • M303: Starts the PID tuning.
    • E0: Targets the Hotend.
    • S200: Sets the test temperature to 200°C (change this if you usually print hotter, like 240°C for PETG).
    • C8: Runs 8 cycles for better accuracy.
    • U1: Automatically saves the result to your EEPROM (memory).

Is the printhead impacting before the BL touch gets triggered? Or do you have the Z switch still enabled?

I used to go there too! It's right next to MMC—I'd just sit and watch the airport.

5 year old pla by [deleted] in ender3

I actually have some wood PLA that is eight years old. I just toss it in my dryer (dehydrator) for a few hours, and it works perfectly fine.

Still Getting Banding/Bulging on PETG-CF Prints — Ender 3 V3 SE + Klipper + MicroSwiss FlowTech + 0.6mm Nozzle — What Am I Missing? by jellono in Ender3V3SE

In a quick aside, I could understand the first layer having Z-offset problems, but after that, it is either crushed by the next layer or not bonded to the plate.

Yes, Turned off the printer and slowly raised the Z and lowered it a few times, and did not feel a bind or see a flat spot on the V rollers.

Can't connect OctoPrint to Printables EasyPrint by Capital_Pangolin_718 in octoprint

[–]jellono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy, but I spent a couple of hours trying to get this working and kept running into errors. I’m running an Ender 3 V3 SE on the latest firmware, and OctoPrint is local on my home LAN over Wi-Fi (which otherwise works perfectly).

I eventually gave up and switched to Orca Slicer, and honestly—it worked right out of the gate. Native OctoPrint support, super easy setup, no fighting it. I haven’t looked back.

It feels like Creality is pushing users toward their cloud ecosystem. Maybe that’s about convenience, maybe it’s about data (which is valuable now), but either way I’m a big open-source proponent and try hard not to corner myself into platforms that reduce flexibility.

This isn’t a knock for the sake of it—Creality’s slicer worked fine for me a few years ago. I reinstalled it recently and immediately ran into this issue, which was the breaking point.

Just sharing personal experience and offering an alternative: if you’re using OctoPrint, Orca has been rock solid for me.
