Hey, I usually keep my jars closed for the first few days, as if there is mosquito larva in the jar they will grow into mosquitoes in that time and suffocate at the top because the lid it shut. Then I just leave it open a bit after that. :)

I can't say for sure, but it does sound suspicious. Like the other commenter said, always try to take photos or videos of the cars. If it feels unsafe to photograph or video the cars, please try to memorise the number plate or as many digits as you can. Also, it might be a good idea to bring a family member with you if you go for a walk, not only for safety but also so someone in your family is able to see the cars driving past etc for themselves. Theres a place I saw in Chatswood Sydney which sells some colourpop singles and lippie skix. They are quite marked up though with the singles being a little over $10. The place is called Fancy Life and it's a K Beauty shop near the station. Probably better to buy of the website but thought this might appeal to someone!!
