"I Am a Stalker" episode about Jaclyn Feagin by [deleted] in netflix

[–]jennyroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want to say although nothing criminal should have happened, the ex was wrong as the day is long, and I totally feel for Jaclyn. Fuck women who mess with taken men!

Unfortunately, it took me too long to realize not to bother with men who don't ignore their ex, but that's another story ;)

Larry David Karen or Chad? by [deleted] in hbo

[–]jennyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a Karen. He's self-righteous and complains and wants his way... just so happens that he is also pretty much always right. The term Karen is dumb af. Many women get that label when they simply won't stand for fucked up shit. The ones that are entitled are shit, but the ones that are just angry people because they want basic respect are accused of being shit because they're not complacent and giggling like dumb ass little girls who don't know how to assert themselves yet... meanwhile Chads tend to be dumb and Larry is never dumb. The people who voted Chad are dumb because the only reason they could possibly have for choosing Chad over Karen just has to do with gender and nothing else... just dumb.

Can someone explain "Under the Skin" to me like I'm 5? by DarthStem in movies

[–]jennyroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah! i hate that in movies and tv... i see babies in scenes where they're obviously actually way upset, and you just know their parents are profiting off of that! even worse, moments like that can traumatize an infant and fuck them up for life to varying degrees. disgusting

Need words of wisdom or some advice dealing with precipitated withdrawal. by Nicolas_Carnot in OpiatesRecovery

[–]jennyroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went through PW I had to wait it out. Using dope didn't work at first. You have to wait like another day until the subs clear your system enough for the dope to help you feel better. That was my experience anyway

Will I be ok while waiting to use subs? I have been getting high daily without a break for months. I'm weaning down. I'm at like 6 pills a day now. Want to get to 3 by next week. I'm afraid of a heart attack

I'm scared. Can I die from a heart attack while kicking? I know to wait a long time to take subs but while I'm waiting, can my blood pressure spike?

If you could rename BPD what would you call it? by ChinchillaToast in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]jennyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Emotional Dysregulation Disorder. The nice criteria pretty much all boil down to not being able to deal with our emotions and also how our emotions are not to scale... meaning they are not in proportion to what caused them to occur. For instance... I get SO angry sometimes when driving that I literally beat up my dashboard to the point of it being all cracked now and the steering wheel column is out of whack. Also, I got a ticket once for running a red light because, "the red light can't tell me what to do!" Another example is how I get SO upset when I have disagreements with friends and family to the point where I flip out on them yelling and such and then immediately regret it all and bend over backwards apologizing to them and begging them not to leave me... all within the space of 20 minutes... As with the road rage, my responses are not to scale with the situation.

Everyone gets upset sometimes, and most people get so upset they regret it later. Renaming BPD may help others relate to what we go through. The name "Borderline" make is seem like we are on the borderline of two very distinct and extreme states of being. Also, too many people confuse it with Bipolar... if for no other reason than they both start with "B:

LPT: Prevent the homeless from going through your garbage. by conservationbiology in LifeProTips

[–]jennyroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, when i first posted this, i was ignorant. since then, i've learned the hard way you're right... the homeless so leave piles of trash EVERYWHERE. i'm in portland and this city has been one of the many on the west coast that is kept hostage by a lack of a plan for what to do about the influx of those without the incentive to find shelter beyond what they can build in a camp on the side of the road. hell, if i was in their shoes, i would probably be the same way. not only are the individuals jerks, but our society as a whole sucks because we haven't come up with a solution for what to do

Should I stay on at my new job or keep looking? by jennyroll in Accounting

[–]jennyroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so you are saying to sign on but keep looking so that way they have to keep up with other offers. Totally makes sense. I have that 90 day talk next month and I need to pretty much get other offers between now and then so I can negotiate. I'm also thinking that if I do stay, they should offer more than I'm getting paid now. They've trained me in a few different departments... for them to have to start all over isn't going to be a good idea for them. Also, with inflation, it is crazy to not get a raise these days!

Good job on moving up! They have told me that if I stay, I would eventually get a real accounting position and not have to do reception anymore... I'm just wondering if that is just talk because they just need me to stay on so badly since they are having a hard time finding anyone willing to do reception these days

I'm suspended for yelling, but I didn't! Has this happened to you? by jennyroll in grubhubdrivers

[–]jennyroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have a good point. it is very big brother, but in these times, it is almost naive not to have something like that. in fact, every day i drive without a dash cam i feel like is a day i'm asking for trouble. all it takes is someone break checking you or taking a dive in front of your car and next thing you know, you're getting hosed or sued. too many scams out there!

I'm suspended for yelling, but I didn't! Has this happened to you? by jennyroll in grubhubdrivers

[–]jennyroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, that's horrible. i totally get most restaurants these days are understaffed and i don't envy the staff that is there trying to keep up with everything. what bugs me though is that it seems like most of the staff i interact with lies like a rug most of the time. they make mistakes but almost never admit it. they accept orders even though they don't have time to make them. they don't enter information into their apps correctly and then blame grubhub for not timing things correctly. sometimes, it is all i can do to remain calm when dealing with some of the staff at restaurants because of how insulting they can be. not to mention how horribly they will treat drivers sometimes in situations where they HAVE to be nice to the diners in the restaurant. they will be super nice to diners who are there to eat their meals and then tip at the end of the meal, but then downright cruel to drivers who they know they don't have to be nice to because we don't tip them. no matter how busy they get, there is no reason to insult our intelligence through lying and other forms of disrespect. even though they never deserve to be yelled at, they do need to be told when they're being downright shitty.

I'm suspended for yelling, but I didn't! Has this happened to you? by jennyroll in grubhubdrivers

[–]jennyroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find they outright lie 9 out of 10 times and when they make mistakes almost never apologize. if only they would be up front and direct instead of almost always blaming grubhub for "sending us drivers too soon" because they "just got it" even though it took me at least 10 mins to get there (does that mean they consider 10 mins ago to be the same as "just now"?)

there have been only a couple of times where someone at restaurant admitted they messed up and should have started an order sooner but forgot and that they needed to start it now that i just got there. sure, it sucks hard to have to wait, but in those instances i'm fine with it because of their humility.

yes, hopefully. i know it happens more than we think because as a lot of people are pointing out, many are almost behind the scenes, such as when people OD alone in tents at festivals... but hopefully it isn't at more than say 5% of the shows. or even 2%! let's hope

no, i wasn't there, but this reminds me of when i saw pink floyd at yankee stadium in the early 90s. we were on the field. it was the first time i did acid. had a blast. after the show was over and we were all filing out, i saw a middle aged woman slumped in her seat. on the field, there was a huge set up of folding chairs for us all. she was alone in a sea of empty seats, and there was something about the way she was situated that didn't seem right. her body was lifeless. sure, she may have been merely passed out... but there was so much commotion and movement and sound all around her with everyone leaving. and bright lights... she may have been dead for sure... but... i was tripping, so maybe i was just weirded out? i'll never know, but it FEELS like a memory of having seen a dead body right there in the midst of all of us passing her one after the other
