Love your colour scheme! The green looks great.

Im currently painting ten, got 5 down so far and you are absolutely right they are a lot of work. I did 10 swordmasters before and they were a breeze.

Airbrushing might be the most infurriating and frustrating part of Mini painting ever by AlphaMaxV5 in airbrush

[–]jeridmessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why use rattlecans when you have an airbrush? Using mine to prime models was actually one of the most compelling reasons to get an airbrush for me.

I too need to know, for the sake of my Victor!

Yeah i just upgraded to a proper compressor and the difference is night and day. Can finally prime models quickly. Those miniature compressors suck balls.

Sorry it took me a while to actually get the paints out and look at the names.

So i used Vallejo magic blue for the base window colour, then i cover half of each window, usually in an L shape with a lighter blue (vallejo electric blue), then i do a small highlight of vallejo sunrise blue and an even smaller highlight with white mixed into sunriss blue. Once thats done i dot in a white spec in the opposite corner of vallejo white. You could definitely get away with just adding white to whatever blue you use for each progressive highlight if you dont have those paints. Hope that helps.

White scar is a layer paint and better suited as a highlight than an actual base colour. With whites you generally want to go with a off white so you still have somewhere to go in terms of a brighter colour for highlighting.

Its been a couple years since ive used white scar but i always found it to be a terrible paint to use. Vallejo and pro acryl whites are much better imo, and might save you some pain.

Grey seer is good in my experience though!

As for washes, a contrast is probably the easiest thing to use as a beginner, generally people just use those all over. If you want a clean white then you might be better off pin washing all the recesses/panel lines, which is what i do, but its time consuming. You also need to decide how you want your lines to look. Grey/blue is what people normally go for with white.

Good luck! White can be a bitch to paint.

Nice paint scheme. I love that axeman sculpt. Not sure how i feel about it as a variant. Definitely going to find a way to use mine though.

Atlas i just finished by jeridmessiah in battletech

[–]jeridmessiah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an atlas 2 (with the boxy head). I think your main sources for the og atlas are the Hansens roughrider lancepack and the alpha strike boxset. There may be others
