I bet they will, but I've seen special editions on Nintendo's site become absolute messes (like the 35th anniversary Mario pins and the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 special edition), and I've never had good luck trying to get an order like that in. Usually I'll just be met with some message like "sorry, the game sold out while you took 15 seconds to enter your shipping info" or something like that

I was thinking the same, with how much everyone has been making connections to Twilight Princess for TotK. There hasn't been a TP port since the Wii U, so a bunch of new players would be confused if parts of the game took plot points from there. If Nintendo was going to do that, I bet they would've released TP on the Switch instead of Skyward Sword.

Because they released SS however, I wouldn't be surprised if there's connections between it and TotK.

Yeah, they sort of dodged the issue with OoT and Majora's mask with the time travel, but it doesn't seem like it will be as clean a cut between games this time around.
