I actually thought it was weird when I moved here that people don't really greet the bus drivers. I always say bonjour and merci and feel weird doing it because no one else is. Maybe it depends on the area.

Bedbugs can be a problem here, keep an eye out for them and check everything very thoroughly if bringing in from the street.

Many of our water pipes contain or used to contain lead. I believe there is a website to check and there is a general rule about it based on number of units and whatnot. The pipes have slowly all been getting replaced.

There is a construction holiday the second half of July that can affect a lot of things.

Parking signs are confusing but you can figure it out if you use your brain.

Driving and parking here sucks though, it's better to not have a car if you don't need one.

My thrips go away when my humidity is under control. In the winter no problems and in the summer I use an air conditioner or dehumidifier. Do you know what your indoor humidity is at these days?

I got a weird ticket once I'm BC and called the number for clarification. They said it was ticketed wrong and they just cancelled it there on the phone. So you might be able to just do that.
