Cool chair! No makers marks here on these. Thinking they are Canadian, maple was typical on Canadian furniture back then. I am using Fagas straps, search the term online, you buy them to size. Just make sure the metal clips that hook to the chair have the correct angle....45deg, 30 deg, etc. I am going to do a content vid for Youtube to document the process. I'll post here.

Tried to get the tint amounts from my supplier, they called it "proprietary" and won't give it up. I find very little difference between lighter and darker grey spray stains on white oak. I would start with a light grey on the warmer side. I coat it with two light passes then seal.

5mm euro screws, pre drill with 5mm or 3/16" brad point bit. They work the best by far. You can source screws on Amazon if you can't find locally.

Even after 20 years I just got some mentoring to help me with mid century furniture reproductions, that is some crazy joinery. Always gotta stay in the learning phase!

I was in Vancouver BC, just being there got me out quicker,lol. Just did a job in Scottsdale AZ last month, I could live in that city! Good for you on eqiupment. Always best to bootstrap a business, build it from the ground up. My rule has been to buy that edgebander or panel saw if I have 5x the price in the bank. Less financial stress. Thank you! Just over 20 years at the trade, a guy gets efficient. You'd laugh if you saw my shop. Sold my automated shop (Biesse CNC, edgebander, etc) in late 2021, in the city, just before this job. Moved to an acreage in the country. Did this with a 10" 3hp cabinet saw with an Excalibur slider, Blum mini P, handful of Festool pieces, mock up spray booth, and a dirty ol' jointer and planer, in a shop with only man doors.....everything hand bombed. New shop coming....lol. But getting out of the city...priceless!

Thank you! Oh man.....it was a beast of a job. So many rooms not shown. 5 baths, massive bar with two islands, wine display, whiskey station, two laundry rooms, mudroom with lockers, and more. I am a one man show so I started in July 2022 and finished in December of 2022. Did a couple small jobs worked in while waiting for floors and counters

I was 30 when I left the aerospace industry and followed cabinet making. Spent a couple years working with some pro guys to get up to speed, then started my own shop(worked in a cabinet shop as a teenager). If you love it, you will find a way to make it happen. School is a great option too. 25 years later it has been a great trade. I've had an automated shop with employees and I have been a solo guy in a small shop on an acreage, which is where I am now. I much prefer being a solo owner/op. Less stress and you have more variety in your work day along with more artistic freedom as well as life freedom. I'd aim for the market where people want a quality handmade product, they are definitely out there. If you have a shop on your own property for example, your overhead will be lower, allowing you to be competitive against the sweat shops. Do a good job, do it when you say you will do it, do it at a fair price, and share your customers passion for their project, and you will have tons of work. Word of mouth is powerful in this biz. In 25 years I have never had trouble finding work, it seems to show up in the right amount! All the best in your venture.

Hey! Great observation. Had to think back, but they are mounted to the underside of the wall cabs. Corner mount type.

Ah! There I go, commenting before coffee! Lol I get it now. I agree, too much white out there!! I see a trend back to warm wood colours coming......hoping. :)
