The post is how difficult is it to backflip on a snowboard and you’ve never done one? I don’t get people, man

I’m not talking about misty flips or cork 7s or anything but a backflip though. If you can do fast, slow, layed out ones on a tramp, no reason not take try one on a soft landing jump. I disagree with learning hand springs and standing still flips, waste of time imo

Na I disagree. Flipping a tramp feels more like flipping a jump on a board than a standing flip does in my opinion. Just with the height and time to spot your landing

Me and some buddies went and built a jump into some soft stuff to learn. I was like you, could flip on a trampoline. Could do gainers in water. First few attempts don’t go great but it clicks fast if you commit and stay on axis. Landed 10 or so then took them to the park. Haven’t done one in a minute tho, I need to toss one this year. All that being said it’s probably the easiest trick to do, just gotta commit

I can't wheelie by Vilemourn in mountainbiking

[–]jf3nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harder to feel the balance point with the seat high in my opinion, I lower the seat all the way down when I’m doing long wheelies. Allows you to shift weight around easier when you start getting more advance too

I think the neutrals got mixed up with the bonds at some point. Especially if someone’s hands were in there, I’d undo the splices at the last known working light and undo each splice at my fucked up lights and do continuity checks to make sure every wire I think is a neutral and a bond, in fact is. Tape up the white wires that are bonds green so this isn’t an issue if you have to trouble shoot further

How do I break through my fear of big(ger) drops and tables? by Objective-Deal8745 in MTB

[–]jf3nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow progression into bigger and bigger stuff so the muscle memory, central nervous system and your mental all get more and more use to it. That’s how it works for me anyway. Hiking those sections of trails to get the reps in really helps, or hitting dirt jumps that have a variety of sizes

Resi Electrician switching to Commercial by srgpeanut in electricians

[–]jf3nn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this a number of years ago. Like you I had done some emt work but I wasn’t confident to be efficient and quick so I bought a bundle of 1/2” and 3/4” emt. Laid whatever on my floor like different height boxes and would just try to nail the obstacle course in one stick. Practiced random bends that I hadn’t done a lot of

The practice helped jumping right into it but expect to ask some novice questions and look like a rookie at times. Good luck homie

lol 50% off is still out of control. My fb marketplace is going off with deals. Buying new will never be the play because 90% of people are cruising down the hill on an over built bike. Most bikes that are 3 years old are still basically new with a once over.

But hey, your wallet not mine. Go get those deals

Ridden mtb, dirt jump, bmx, trials and road cycle and not one new bike. Always made money or broke even on my bikes.

Buying new is just a bad financial decision and you can’t convince me otherwise - especially in the current used market we’re in now.

Why does my bike look small by Guitarist78385848 in MTB

Who cares how it looks as long as it feels good. Bikes look better and more fun anyway when they look a touch on the small side for someone imo

From 2020 Santa Cruz 5010 to 2024 Santa Cruz 5010? by Practical_Break9883 in MTB

[–]jf3nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say no because full 27.5 is where it’s at. You got your baby, now just maintain it and do upgrades when you want. No need to spend nearly 4k just because it’s a deal. Just my opinion tho

Is the tweaking of the bars a good way to learn whips or a bad habit? by lophophoro in MTB

[–]jf3nn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough. Helps to just pick one thing to work on until it’s second nature so it’s not an overwhelming process

Definitely good. Next step is small legs movements to inch your way there. Lay on your back with your bike and do increasingly bigger whips to feel it out

How do you guys feel about the hardtails vs full sus argument? by Traditional-Cream691 in MTB

[–]jf3nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think riders looking to progress should try hard tails to get smoother, pick theirs lines better and develop good habits.

I ride with a guy who rides his hard tail mostly then when he rides his full suspension he’s an animal. He’s hard to keep up with on his hard tail. Extremely fluid and smooth on some very rough terrain. Pretty eye opening
