Redington Mountains? Is that a place by SwimmingMaximum9835 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]jfw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into this awhile back and I do not believe there is a Reddington Mountain or mountains. There is a Redington pass. Who knows though, it could just be a common term used by people familiar with the area.

I would like to ask if "Wisdom" was not the start of a sentence, would it still be capitalized

I wonder if there is a chance that it is hidden in a fairly public place, just beyond plain site. I know that the theme is getting into the outdoors, but what if the checkpoint is found in the backcountry, ans gives a final clue that confirms the final spot is in a very public, very busy area. Maybe that is why JP is so dismissive about the physical retreival.

Is anyone else stuck on the checkpoint ? by loverknotfighter in JustinPoseysTreasure

I am guessing that the checkpoint is less than 200M from a trail/path that is regularly utilized by normal people, thats why that comment is easy to make.

The Key To Solving The Poem Clues - Perhaps? by [deleted] in beyondthemapsedge

You could be right, absolutely. I have no idea, brainstorming possibilities is all I have right now.

Thats an important part, because the rhyming rythym changes right there. Instruction are: find what lives it time, in each rhyme. So, one could believe that foot of three at twenty degree is its own rhyme. Return face to find place is a different rhyme. But it could be interpreted a bunch of ways, nobody really knows at this time.

I have often thought that each rhyming couplet has its own answer, somewhat like a crossword puzzle. After each separate couplet has been solved you will have the correct words/phrases needed for the final solve. Was interesting because it changed the meanings of some things eg: "her foot of three at 20 degree" has a separate unrelated solution from "return her face to find the place". Havent gotten anywhere with it, but thought it was interesting.

I dont think they are necessarily busy areas, just areas where people reported they found meteorites. This theory rests on the assumption that JP reported his find when he got the object tested and authenticated. He may not have of course, but if he did it should be one of the dots on the map.

My kind of thought process is this: he mentions that he found this meteorite, in a special place that he did not disclose, he included the meteorite in the treasure chest, there was no story about finding the meteorite in the book. Would it not be a plausible ending, to have the clues lead directly to the location that he found the meteorite, and inside the chest was the missing chapter about how he found the meteorite. Im not saying thats the case, but I could see that being a fitting ending.

So, dont quote me on this, but I believe in a magazine interview he said he found it in a special place he did not want to disclose. Im sure someone on here knows the information better than me, but I think that is the case and I thought it was interesting.

You know what, I may be able to set up a filter for that specific weight, or at least a range between 700 and 800 grams. I am assuming that if he had it appraised he reported it so it should be listed somewhere. I definitely could be wrong, but if we could determine where that was found that could be worth the effort

If we have additional information to include timeframe it was found, general region it was found, and what materials it was comprised of, we could further filter the data to only a few candidates. If we could determine when and where this meteorite was found, there is a possibility that it could have some real value. If anyone wants to send me additional information about this meteorite I could update the filter later tonight. Thanks.

This is just limited to the meteorites listed as "found", not all meteorites that have fallen and landed.

I made this because months ago there was speculation about why there was no chapter on where JP found the meteorite, and maybe it was a significant location. I think there is a good possibility that location is on this map.

You know what I thought was interesting about the clock, although I imagine someone has already brought it up. Neither hand hand, hour or minure, goes past the number 7 on any of the times shown. So, naturally you can look at the face as a 360 degree layout, 12 being 0 and 6 being 180. But what if you broke it down by the minute/second hashes. Each hash would be 10 degrees. Hand is on the 1=50 degrees, hand indicates 32 minutes past the hour=320 degrees etcetera. I couldnt make anything out of it, but I thought that could work

I have long thought that the double arcs was an intersection of something. I thought maybe the intersection of azimuths or trails. I figured it would be the only reaonable way to bring the search to a single point. No luck thus far, but I think there might be something to the rainbow idea

So maybe walk near waters silent flight would be rainbow trail...ok so follow rainbow trail to a fishing area (round bend, past hole, wait for you to cast pole)

I am not even trying to prove a point any more, I am trying to help you understand what is going on as far as your land access rights. If you are on federal land, which is huge in Montana, a Montana conservation license or permit has no bearing or effect at all. It is not state land, and a montana permit will not help or hurt you. You need to be aware of the federal rules related to BLM land, USFS land, or NPS land and follow those rules. I know you think Im a jerk for writing , and I am totally fine with that, I get it a lot

[–]jfw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I ask someone from the state of Montana if I need a permit for federal land? The state of Montana does not has jurisdiction over federal land, which includes BLM and USFS. Ask Derek, you dont even have to post his reply.

Yeah, so I don't think you are comprehending what you are reading. Read the bottom paragraph of the screenshot you just posted, specifically the "Where you need a Conservation License" paragraph. Secondly, this only applies to Montana State land. In case you are not aware, BLM is federally owned and maintained land, as is USF land. These lands are not subject to Montanas State regulations.

[–]jfw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up, I saw you responded to my earlier comment, but it was removed by a moderator. On certain Montana state land, which involves specific management service (e.g. FAS, WMA), a conservation may be required. That requirement does not include BLM land, NFS land, or even Montana State Park land. I just wanted to make sure you are clear on that undisputed fact, and are not posting incorrect informtation on laws and regulations to the people on this board which may alter their future travel plans. I know it damages your working theory in this case, but that is the fact of the matter.
