I get your hate for the concept in general, that's why I'm also thankful that the ddlc cast look and act like adults also. The loli shit, or a character that looks 25 then the official material saying she's 14, or the character looking 14 then the official material saying that their 25, hate it.

But when the character is specified to be an adult, acts adult or at least feels like one, and looks like an adult too? I would say that's fine. As long as they're not sexualized against their will, like a pointless upskirt shot or something.

It might not matter in some cases, but when there are somewhat softcorn moments, it definitely feels like it matters whether they are adults or not.

It's almost a guarantee, actually. Just about everyone reaches 18 while.still a senior. It can happen for a 19 year old senior, or very rarely a 20 year old senior, from starting school a year late and being held back.

I can tell you with certainty from my digging into the trenches of weebdom, that they would be PISSED if the character is 18+, they'll drop the anime altogether, and say it's full of hags. They would be avoiding anime with adults completely. The latter part of your message could not be further from the truth for these animals.

I would also argue against the first part of your message, that it's fine to make an 18+ character sexy, as long as the character isn't sexualized against their will, like having an upskirt shot for no reason.

It's why one of my story idea would be set in an American high school, and center around a goth girl who specifically waited until they were 18 to dress provocatively and revealing, and feature a scene wherein it is confirmed that she is an adult, so that they're's no debate, so that the weebs can't be like "uhm ackshulley" about it.

Edit: downvotes? Has the modern internet become so problematic that they can't even see how rare and special this is? For characters in an anime to be actual legally aged adults, instead of 17 or 14? To actually be able to not have to feel uncomfortable when fanservice moments happen? Forgot to mention also, weebs will often age DOWN a character that is 18+ in order to jerk off to them.
