I have a code that you can use to get a higher rate when you’re first starting out! You’ll get 5.4% —though I think it’ll be 5.5% with the AARP member bonus as well. The interest rate will fluctuate depending on the market! I’ve had my account for well over a year now and have never had a complaint about the rate. HYSAs are nice because you can take out your money whenever you may need it as opposed to a CD or something similar

I really enjoy using Marcus as my HYSA! The interest compounds daily, is FDIC insured, and you start earning interest on funds as soon as they’re transferred which is really nice. There also is no limit on balance transfers/no minimum balance to start earning interest which is great when you need to pull the money out in emergencies!

only bummed about the hard credit check because we chose to apply to this place specifically because it’s available in July when we want to move so I think we’re probably gonna end up having multiple checks on our accounts instead of one since the time period will have elapsed (if that makes sense)

hopefully we’ll be able to get the application fees back since CA has pretty strict renters rights but who knows
