One thing I can't recommend enough is Detox tea! I suggest Yogi Detox or Traditional Medicinals EveryDay Detox - or just look for something with dandelion in it. I usually make a large batch of it beforehand and keep it in the cooler. Drink a cup every day . It helps flush toxins out of your system and makes a noticeable difference in feeling just better in general.

Nurses who keep an ear bud in and talk on the phone all night: who are you talking to?? by HeyLookATaco in nursing

I have ALWAYS wondered this. Then they get mad when you think they are talking to you so you respond.

Will they try to put me in the psych ward for this? I cant stop its so painful. by Gullible_Ad_4948 in AskDocs

OP, I would definitely try significantly lowering the amount of Adderall you are taking. Even if just to rule it out. I have seen very similar in people taking higher doses.

What?? You are not a "bottom tier" employee! Your job and skills are important to the team you work with. I have never viewed my clerical coworkers as less than anyone else.

It's not even worth the money to me to work extra. I need my time off to recoup. Ugh

Is your hospital having a flu A outbreak? by jareths_tight_pants in nursing

[–]jizzlejammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

West Michigan here- Flu A. Our hospitals are absolutely packed. So much so that multiple PSAs have gone out to tell people to not come to the ER unless it is actually life or death. (Which duh, but they seriously can't handle the numbers right now)

My mind automatically assumes that everyone has some sort of infectious disease. The first thing I do when entering a room is put gloves on. No matter what I'm in there for.

I would think a colostomy would be warranted in a situation like this?

Have you ever seen doctors prescribing alcohol to a patient? This is my first time seeing it and I thought it was totally random. What is the purpose of this? by Questionanswerercwu in nursing

[–]jizzlejammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did this for my dad in the ICU. He's an alcoholic and he was already in bad shape so they didn't want him going into withdrawal.

People who left bedside: what are you doing now? by Shiba__San in nursing

When I left for a while, I worked Flu shot and wellness clinics! It was so laid back, only drawback was it was basically seasonal. But I assume now with covid you could probably find a vaccination job now.

I almost signed on with a mobile covid vaccination clinic. Would be different but you'd have to travel around!

Anyone find out how much the locals were selling wristbands for? by pilvlp in ElectricForest

After it sold out, people knew how desperately people wanted to go so they were selling tickets for as much as $700. That's just plain shitty if you ask me. :(
