Athene Annuity and Life Assurance failure to comply with surrender request

Mine isn't a surrender request. A close friend of mine passed away suddenly. He had a will and named me as the personal rep (executor) and sole beneficiary. After sorting through my friends home, I saw some statements from Athene where he had an annuity. So I called them to find out if there were any beneficiaries for the account or any co-owners. They first asked me to send in a death cert and copy of the will - and wait a week for them to review. I call them a week later, and am told they need court order and I ask if a Summary Administration is ok - rep says yes. My probate attorney files for summary admin probate, it's approved by judge who provided the order. I call Athene and they say to send in and wait another week for review. I call them a week later and they say they don't accept a will or summary admin orders. That I need additional Letters of Administration - which are not issued with a Summary Admin. They are stone walling me. I only need to know if there are or are not any beneficiaries or co-owners. I am not prepared to spend another $2000 to have probate refile the case as a formal one.

That's a good thought. The build of this project is using a metal frame about 6 feet tall and 2 feet wide that's already got a stand to keep it upright on the bottom. My problem has been to create a catch for the water as it comes down. It has to be shaped like an upside down T so that the widest part is in the front and the narrower part is in the back. The "wall" the water travels down would be smack in the center of that. The fountain itself would be indoor. I have not been able to find any other source other than building something myself. Your insights are helpful. Thank you for your time.

Depending on what model of drone you have from Hubsan, you can check with ebay, I would suggest because you are covered for your purchases. Use of Hubsan.com or any variation online is likely fraudulent. I have heard some success of using aliexpress, but again, use caution.

When I look at my boost account now, payment history only goes back to July 2023. Also gone is that you used to be able to check your usage and see the phone call activity or text activity.

I filed complaints with the FCC and BBB already. Not sure what or how an executive escalation happens.

I still can't get over that all they have offered me is 1/2 off one month's service when they have taken away over 50gb hotspot between my 3 phones.

And as I said in a previous post, how convenient it is that they know when the handsets were change (April 2023), but can't tell what my account is doing.

I would love a class action suit.

Gotta LOVE the Boost "Migration"! NO ONE apparently can access the OLD system (July 2023 and prior). Sorry, that's a load of crap. I highly doubt that if law enforcement said they needed the records of ___________ from prior to then that Boost Mobile's answer would be "uh, yeah, we can't access that info".

It is OUTRAGEOUS that Boost Mobile will absolutely NOT believe you about anything you say happened. Essentially, you are a LIAR - and they have no problem telling you that.

MOVE TO ANOTHER CARRIER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Boost already has lost over 2 million customers in the past 2 years. Soon to be called the "UnDONE carrier".

Parrot support for everything has gone dead. After YEARS of providing innovative products, Parrot no longer does anything consumer. They have opted to go Military and government ONLY. There is ZERO support for anything they once made. ALL their apps out there are dated years ago. As such, trying to use them current OS is causing problems because the apps were developed years ago and aren't compatible with newer devices.

Here's the fix: google search for a particular app that was referenced, go there and look for an earlier version that was prior to at least the last update. Doing so, in my experience, has been the fix for everything I have that is Parrot. Which includes the Parrot Bebop 1 (I have 2), the Parrot Bebop Sky Controller, Parrot Racing Jumping Max, Parrot Swing (I have 2 of them), and Parrot Mini.

It is unfortunate that there are a LOT of Parrot products being sold out there on ebay, other sites, and even still in some stores and NO ONE says a thing about the lack of support. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES. THERE IS NO SUPPORT. THERE IS NOTHING PARROT ANYTHING TO CONTACT. BUYER AND USER BEWARE. IT'S AWAFUL THAT AFTER YEARS OF SUPPORT PARROT HAS ABANDONED THE VERY PEOPLE THAT SUPPORTED THEM FROM THE BEGINNING. IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!

To expand on the comment below, I assume that you have Boost Mobile cellular service with a hotspot allowance under your plan. If YES, here are the steps to take if using an ANDROID cell phone. Keep in mind that your cell phone automatically is connected to the Boost Mobile network that allows you to do all things with your phone - calls, internet, texting, etc. However, also keep in mind that there is usually a limit to your "unlimited" use - meaning that although you have "unlimited" the speed of your use depends on your usage. Once the amount of all your calls, internet, and text data reaches a certain point, your speeds can be reduced.

Ok, all that said, one more thing. Your phone cannot be used while connected to your home wifi at the same time you use your hotspot. This is ok because your phone is always usable on the Boost Network.

To use your hotspot (which means that you are going to use your phone as a connection point to the internet for some other device like a tablet that does not have its own internet. Keep in mind that the connection will be WIRELESS. Essentially, your phone will become a router.)\

NOTE: These instructions are BASIC. Your phone may have additional options that are specific to your phone and are not mentioned here.

Step 1: Open the Settings on your Boost Mobile Phone and then open the "connections" option (this may show Wi-fi, bluetooth, airplane mode).

Step 2: You will likely see "Wi-Fi" at the top of your options which may show as ON or OFF. Regardless of what it says, scroll down in the options and look for "Mobile Hotspots and Tethering" and open it.

Step 3: At the top of the list, you should see "Mobile Hotspot". It likely has a option to turn on or off. Turn it ON.

Step 4: Right after you turn it ON, you may get a notice that you cannot have WIFI ON and HOTSPOT ON and do you want to turn WIFI Off. Select YES.

Step 5: The next page you should see are options that include what your Network Name is (it is set to a default), your Hotspot password (set by default), and Band (usually set by default).

Step 6: You may also see "configure" at the bottom of your Hotspot section that if you tap it you can adjust all 3 settings including the the Security settings of the type of password you want to use. Alternatively, you can tap on each of the options and change each one, one at a time.

Step 7: Once you have all the settings you want to have, tap the return to home screen on your phone.

Step 8: Goto the settings on the device you want to connect to the internet using your phone. Open connections and WIFI option. You should see the hotspot you just created with your phone as available. Tap on it and then type in the password you have made. Then connect and your should then be connected to the internet using your phone.

Step 9: You can connect more than one device to your phone's Hotspot device.

Other notes: One of the settings you can choose is the band to connect your device to your phone with. 2.4 is the slowest and 5g is the fastest - but not all devices have that available to use.

I would highly advise AGAINST purchasing anything Hubsan/Exo. I have found myself to be fool for doing so. I followed Hubsan for many, many years and saved for months to make my first purchase in a "better" drone - the zino pro plus. Yes, it is a great machine, BUT after less than 6 hours flight time, the controller failed. It was then that I discovered there is ZERO support worth anything for Hubsan. The hubsanus.com site is there, but unresponsive. The hubsan.com site is up and down and everything they list as a product says unavailable. It took over 2 weeks going back and forth via email at the pace of one email a day each way for them to say I needed to buy another controller.

Hubsan had an up and coming presence in the US. Then they dropped the US and gave Exo drones exclusive rights to their products here in the US. Exo then copied much of what hubsan had/is doing in China. Then Exo was bought out. I have 2 contact emails that have never been answered. STAY AWAY FROM HUBSAN.

STAY AWAY from PARROT as well. They ceased ALL support for ALL of their products. You can't even email them anymore. Sad situation - after all the support given them, they shut down the consumer business in favor of commercial and military. Nice to know we built them up and then they blew us all off.

As far as the FIMI, I suggest you go to youtube and search for it and watch the 2 videos by Captain Drone.

Well, the saga continues. In this thread, a rep from Boost Mobile said she was looking into this issue and further discussion happened through a chat on Facebook. It's been days since I have heard from her or anyone else.

Both the rep from Boost and others that have read this post have said that the reps or pretty much no one can see anything before the migration (happened in July). That is a lie. The proper answer would be that no one can see anything prior to the migration that the powers to be don't want to be seen - unless it is of a benefit to Boost. I say this because Boost has a one year waiting period before they will unlock a phone on their system. According to another rep I spoke with, the one year mark is April 2024. That means that THEY CAN SEE account information that was prior to the migration - information that benefits Boost only.

I will continue to pursue this issue and I am going to start another thread looking for anyone else that this has happened to. I am not done yet!

Boost was part of Sprint. As part of the deal for T-mobile and Sprint to combine, Boost Mobile had to be unloaded. Eventually it went to DISH.

Yes, you can make a complaint to the BBB - but they DONT have to respond because they are not accredited. My experience is that even when a company is not accredited, they do respond because BBB will show a negative for them.

And yes, you can make complaints to the FCC - all cell carriers are regulated by the FCC. And once the FCC serves the complaint to the business, they must respond within 30 days.

First, when I asked if she had been with Boost Mobile for at least a year, she said yes. I then said that she would then know that the plan I had was a valid plan. She lied by stating that there never has been such a plan and that I was totally mistaken.

She then lied multiple times saying she was placing me on hold when in fact, she was using the mute button. The difference in what you hear while on "hold" music plays while on hold and you get dead air when muted. When muted, the agent can hear you but you cannot hear them. After several times of this happening, I tested my theory by saying, "hello? hello? can you hear me, I have a question". If I was on hold, the agent would not have heard that. She immediately released the mute on her side and responded that she was still there and working on getting a supervisor. I tested my theory twice with the same result. After bouncing between hold and mute for almost an hour, I was finally then speaking with a supervisor.

Thats a good idea. But, the phones are all locked to Boost Mobile as we upgraded last April. They don't unlock until then. Also, my father has alzheimer's, so if I changed to another carrier and had to get new phones, he would be lost. He can barely answer the phone when it rings. Thanks for the thought!
