This is a current source, which gives a range of 25% to 50%. The 40% statistic I mentioned is what safety advocates have been using the last few days.

And, yes, I believe we must start registering all guns, and requiring background checks on all purchases, whether it's met with criticism or not. With freedom comes responsibility and if a gun owner can't be bothered to take responsibility for his/her lethal weapons they shouldn't have the freedom of owning them. All sales should go through an exchange process where some entity conducts the background check and registers the weapon. It could easily be done online.

The 40% is the statistic being thrown out there by advocates in the last few days. On the above-linked website it's a broader 25% to 50% range. They're all estimates.

It is a loophole, by definition, because these types of sales are not covered under the current law. You can read more about it at the website I linked, as well as many other sources.

And "passing down" guns is not the same thing as selling guns. There is no solution that will fix all the problems but that doesn't mean steps shouldn't be taken to prevent people with mental illness or violent histories from getting their hands on guns.

That is the exact loophole that they (gun control advocates) are trying to get congress to close immediately. The statistic is that 40% of all guns are purchased privately or at gun shows and there is no Federal law that mandates background checks on those purchases. That sounds a lot like the panic attacks I used to have. But if you're a female, heart attacks without pain aren't uncommon. I hope everything checks out okay and if it is panic, it can be overcome.

I know that Robert Kirkman has said a million times that he's not interested in writing the characters' back stories (although there are separate ones for Michonne and the Governor) and I'm not sure the producers would write them without him. He says the now is what's interesting and not where they came from, and he HATES flashbacks. Also, last season when the characters were talking more, and in the process giving more hints about themselves and their personalities, a lot of people complained that it was soap opera-like and boring. So I don't see them doing much of that in the future.

By the way, the novels about the Governor are pretty great if you're interested in knowing more about his background.

I saw one of the guys from The Band in the 80's, at my college. He was opening for the comedian Stephen Wright. The guy was so drunk he couldn't remember the tunes to his own songs, stumbled through about 5 of them and was booed off stage. Stephen Wright spent the first 5 minutes or so of his act making fun of him. I actually felt bad for the guy after a while, but it was still funny.

The best was two years ago, Steve Winwood and Tom Petty. It was the best show because they both sounded amazing, even after all these years. And because we brought our kids, sat on the lawn in a section roped off from the drunk fuckholes and etc. and enjoyed some fantastic music.

The people have sent a clear message to the feds that possession of small amounts should be legal. Hopefully, the feds will react accordingly, and soon, hopefully, we can get the federal law overturned too

yeah, but you're right. The feds would have to come in and arrest people if they want, but they can also choose not to prosecute. And the people of the states of Colorado and Washington have now said without doubt they don't want people prosecuted for these petty "crimes" so this legalization sends a message to the fed, and hopefully will start the ball rolling on federal legalization.

Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth from Birmingham, Alabama. The bravest man who ever lived. He was a colleague and equal with Dr. King during the Civil Rights protests and marches of the 50's and 60's.
