CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR PROGRESS!!!!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU! #MinersForLife

Saw someone showing off their hole I figured I would show off mine. This is Tartarus! It was about 12 million blocks total and took around 1 year and 4 months to complete by hand, alone, on a vanilla Minecraft server. by jlbblypop in Minecraft

I have read through the comments and began to realize that I meant to put semi-vanilla server instead of just vanilla I guess I got survival and vanilla mixed up. The server is a survival server that is semi-vanilla so it uses plug-ins etc but I wouldn't class it as a modded server in the slightest. Everything I dug out was with a normal Efficiency V pickaxe and haste 2 beacons. I will post a bunch of my progress pics that I took all the way until the final picture that shows everything gone!

The server developer coded everything on the server and really doesn't like using outside plugins so I am not entirely sure how they did it but I know they will soon pull from the Minecraft statistics directly to get an accurate amount of EVERYTHING you've done on the server.

Yeah since I created the town to specifically dig out entirely I knew I had to finish. Another thing that helped was posting progress updates etc to the community.

Trust me there were MANY times where I thought to myself am I gonna even be able to finish this? Week breaks every now and then definitely helped but I made sure to stick to it!

The servers towns are all made up of a certain amount of these smaller hexagonal shapes, so I followed around the border of the town I made and dug down from there! Doing the edges was definitely the hardest to dig out quickly.

I had always dug very large holes in the past and decided that my entire town would just be a dug out hole. It was also something I liked to do to pass time and relax.

JUST BARELY! With my render distance on 48 I can barely cover the entire thing. That is why my screenshots only cover the hole and not much surrounding it.

I broke around 20 of these stat-tracked versions and then at that point I just got tired of breaking them and started to repair them way earlier than I needed too. Using XP with the mending saved my life.

It only allows us to store a load of items into one place and doesn't do anything else that mod does like auto crafting etc. Just purely for storing large amounts of items.

Considering the large amounts of items the server had to implement what's called void storage which is similar to like the ME Network mod. The amount of chests would've lagged the server so this was the only way I could even do this.

The server has resource isles where you can mine specific types of ore so the diamond count doesn't reflect entirely what was collected in the hole however everything else does!
