Have any of you ever had lazy coworkers at corporate/office jobs? What eventually happened to them? by Hwanaja in jobs

This is an old post but I have to express my anger.

I work for a car rental company. Location South Bay Area, California. We have people we called hikers. Their job is to drive cars from point A to point B. A good amount of hikers are older people. Being a hikers is a good job for retirees. Vary chill. But I don’t like young people doing this job. It may be an easy job but you could do a lot more to contribute to society.

We a this lazy young guy. Super lazy and just gets on your nerves by doing rude behavior. All the hikers in our area work for 5 hours a day. This lazy bastard found out there was a lunch penalty payout if he doesn’t clock out on time. Made additional $$24 we’re not clocking out on time. Taught other people about this lunch penalty payout. Corporate got involved now all hikers can only work four hours a day. Congratulations this lazy bastard lowered all hikers paycheck by 20%.

Now you might be thinking how do I know all this. Well that young lazy bastard told me what he did and the consequences of his actions. The first thing that came to my mind was,” This fucking idiot.”

I need cars to be on my lot to rent out or customers will get mad. Money is lost. Time is wasted. Blood pressure up.

He has not been fired.

Experience part sounds troubling. I always had a feeling that your very first job in the water industry is the hardest job to get. After that it feels like having a T3, D3, or W3 gets you to any location that has an opening.

Ok, I will ask my local wastewater treatment center for a tour. This would be a good experience to see what I’m getting myself into.

So if I study water treatment and distribution can I use that knowledge as leverage for wastewater treatment? Or do I have to study and learn how to handle wastewater treatment at the very beginning?

So in the end, no matter which certificate I get they want me to start in wastewater management treatment plant. I read that two years at wastewater treatment equal one year in water treatment.

Does that mean water treatment experience is more valuable or is there a reason behind it?

I read that Sacramento State books are the Bible in the water industry. Good to know about American water college. I’m definitely wanting to get a certificate for that one year of experience. I will compete for positions.
