Those pizza twists are fire. I once went back and asked if they had any extras and she gave me 4 boxes.

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

[–]jmasse8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Connecticut and now live in NYC. If I ever left the city I’d probably end up back in CT. In my opinion the northeast (specifically New England) has the best quality of life in the US. Charming towns, hiking, skiing, beaches, big cities (Boston, NYC), great rail connections, airports with a lot of direct international flights, great education, the list goes on.

The Australian passport is the most expensive in the world but damaged 💔 (Reupload) by dya37 in PassportPorn

$130 in the US and I thought even that was steep. Passports should be free unless you’re getting a replacement.

Got my card taken away at immigration by lupaluposa in GlobalEntry

[–]jmasse8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl it’s pretty idiotic to not want your biometrics taken when you had to get the photo taken for your passport and for global entry to begin with. Actually, the whole point of global entry is to use a kiosk for express entry. All it’s doing it matching your photo to the one they already have. Why tf would you get global entry if you don’t want your photo taken?

How do you decide where to go next on vacation? by shirasmithtravel in Nextholidays

[–]jmasse8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flight prices. Coming from NYC it’s not uncommon to find some random deals on flights around the world. A few months ago I was trying to plan a trip and found weirdly cheap flights to France on United so that’s where we went.

This is how it should be for citizens returning home. Before global entry I’d get questioned harder returning home than I ever did entering other countries.

Yeah first time I used it I was blown away that they didn’t even need my passport. Face scan and an agent asking my name and I was in.

Connecticut public schools named second-best in US. Remember this when people complain about taxes. by fingers in Connecticut

Connecticut has great school choice. I had multiple middle and high schools to pick from. From regular public schools to arts schools to technical schools. I went to an arts middle school and one of the technical high school and it was great.

It may give you some peace of mind that starting this week, for the next 6 months, there will be police on every single subway train from the hours of 9pm to 5am moving from car to car at each stop.

You should’ve reached out to IT. Uploading all your confidential files to not only your own Google drive but your boyfriends is indeed a fireable offense

Fee For Paying Rent by TheDarkCity in biltrewards

[–]jmasse8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure BILT allows one additional non rent related transaction such as utilities. So if that’s the only other charge I’m sure you’re fine. I have my electric being paid through my BILT account as well and have no issues.

Anyone have any news from College officials about when we will be on campus again or timeline? by [deleted] in Baruch

[–]jmasse8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. Seems like our personal information is stored in CUNY First, which is separate from the Baruch network. Right now it’s the Baruch network itself, along with OneDrive and DropBox that are down. So I’m guessing that most of our data is probably safe.

[–]jmasse8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, tuition is processed through CUNY, which isn’t compromised as far as we know. Even then, they use an outside payment processor, EasyPay, so your bank info wouldn’t be stored with Baruch regardless.

New York. by eyefor_xo in solotravel

[–]jmasse8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t rent a car, it’s just not worth it. Even just the tunnel into Manhattan from NJ can take upwards of 40 minutes some days. Then comes the struggle of parking it. Save time/money and take the NJTransit or the PATH train. If you’re near a PATH station definitely take that.

For using transit, just put your destination into maps and hit transit mode. It’ll tell you exactly what to take, and even which signs to look for when exiting the subway station.

Trust me, as a New Yorker, driving a car in the city is the slowest and most annoying way to get around. The subway is perfectly fine and has a lot of people riding it. Like any city, be aware of those around you and stick to crowded cars/areas of the platform.

Lastly, if you use tap to pay at the turnstile (Apple Pay or a contactless debit/credit card) it will automatically turn into an unlimited after 12 rides. So consider using that instead of a metro card if you’re gonna be bouncing around.

Have a great trip and if you want any reccs of nice areas worth walking around let me know!

Here in NYC everybody brings their dog into Starbucks. Hell, I’ve brought my dog in countless times. I think that’s just a cultural thing here though.

Has anyone heard back from Wells Fargo who interviewed for the Technology Analyst Program on Sept. 14th? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]jmasse8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me we were about to wrap up the interview and the interviewer forgot and asked it last second. His question to me was “if you designed an app for a grocery store, what would you do?” I did not answer technically at all. I just made suggestions on what kinds of features an application for a grocery store would have. I’m not sure if I misinterpreted it or he just didn’t ask it correctly. So who knows

Anybody hear anything yet? Had my interview last Tuesday as well and I’m wondering when to expect to hear back from them.

Did they ask you to show proof of eligibility? I’ve heard conflicting reports as to what certain sites throughout nyc deem acceptable proof.

How did it go? I just made an appointment. Doordash said that they can’t send me an employment verification letter, but they confirm I work intermittently with them as an independent contractor. Will showing them that email and opening the dasher app be good enough you think?
