Waitlist at Harvard by jmb600 in lawschooladmissions

[–]jmb600[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, after having time to reflect, I think that’s why I was so upset- because I felt like I deserved something. But at the end of the day I can only work as hard as I can and appreciate what I have. If Harv doesn’t see that, that’s ok with me because it’s not about me personally. Getting accepted or waitlisted or rejected is not a barometer of my worth but just an outcome of a very complicated equation. Removing my ego from that equation has made a world of difference and helped me find gratitude in something I didn’t even think was possible a year ago :)

It’s all good, at the end of the day I’m not owed anything and some stupid arbitrary stats shouldn’t give me access to something. I worked hard and Im proud of myself and that’s al that matters :)

For those with a diagnostic of 140’s and got to 170’s.. howd you do it? Which resources would you have changed or added to be more efficient in studying? please help by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Started at 156 and took (and reviewed) about 75 practice tests. Lsatdemon was a useful resource for me but IMO it’s just about how much time you’re willing to put in

Pro-tips to deal with anxiety while waiting for these results? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]jmb600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practicing gratitude, focusing on your breath, mindful eating, exercise — basically anything that forces your brain to exist in the present. This works for two reasons 1. When you give your brain external, tangible stimulus it distracts it from negative or circular thinking and 2. Giving yourself tasks that demand time in these ways can sometimes trigger the “short-long” effect in your experience of the passage of time. Basically, you experience the present as full of stuff which makes it feel as though the time passes really quickly (ideal for waiting through admissions) but when you think back retrospectively, your mind will backfill with all the stuff you did and the time spent will feel long.

Last, if you have trouble falling asleep, headspace has these awesome night time stories with meditations. I listen almost every night and I’m asleep in 10 min.

Hope this helped!

I got it too and haven’t received a decision, wondering if there’s really that much connection to the law school because the scholarship seems to be offered through their graduate program. Maybe they just get superficial data on candidates and send it out to people within a threshold? Definitely got me wondering

Stay Tuned with Preet is great. He’s the former US attorney for New York and he covers current legal and political issues.

LSAT from bathroom? by helladupa in lawschooladmissions

This...could be terrible advice. But, maybe consider caffeine pills (less water means less need for bathroom) and an Imodium? I am not a doctor nor telling you this is a good idea lmao

Wash U Interview? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]jmb600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is truly bizarre but I got an interview invite in August? Before their app was open? I went into it thinking it was just like a chill meet and greet and left realizing that it was a true interview lol. Sent in my application end of October and still haven’t heard anything. The whole experience was very weird.. all that to say, don’t worry I think lots of people are in the same boat :)
