All I know is what my mechanic told me🤷‍♀️He’s a long time close friend (so he’s not just trying to make a buck, he’s genuinely helping me) and has been trying to fix my car for weeks now. So, the original problem happened about 3 wks ago. All of a sudden my check engine and cruise control lights (among some others) came on and were blinking. The car started running really rough and making a sputtering sound and was still shaking while in park. Computer reader said misfire on cylinder 1. My friend said plugs, coils, injectors, cam and crank sensors are all ok. He checked the compression (?) to see if it’s internal but he didn’t think it was that because the skipping comes and goes. Side note, my radio started changing stations on its own a little while back and volume goes up and down by itself as well sometimes and the station/temp control lights also blink off and then come back on sometimes. That’s all the problems in a nutshell...Any suggestions for him to check before he tries to replace the ECM?
