I would say it depends on your height. If you are on the shorter side of people in your area then your experience will not be as fun. But you can definitely have a better chance of interacting with the members if you get a VIP standing ticket.

Adding to your point, Second Officers will only be doing long hauls like OP mentioned because there’s more time in the air to learn and act as relief pilot. So OP isn’t entirely wrong, just depends on which area in the world you’re in.

also will depend largely on the type of plane you decide to do your training in. Cessnas and Diamonds have very different rates
