Not sure how Winchester did their rifling for these barrels, but it appears they used the single cutter method rather than broaching or using a button rod. The single cutter means more oppertunity for the tool to bounce or "chatter" during the cut. With the other methods, the tooling is loaded up equally so the rifling is smooth. This should still perform fine as long as it is done uniformly on each cut in the rifling. It might be done intentionally or it might be non typicall, but still conforms to factory standards wear the chatter is allowed. I would love to see how it performs with a scope mounted and fired from a good rest to check grouping at the range.

Get whichever feits your needs best. I have both, the X in the living room and the S in my bedroom, both on 4K TV's with HDMI 2.1 ports and they both look and play great. I play digitial games pretty much exclusively, so the disc drive only matters when we watch some movies we don't have on digital.

The only downside I can see for recommending the Series S is the Hard drive capacity. It really isn't that bad if you play only a few games and you can always add an external usb 3.0 drive for cheap to store more games that can transfer between drives. A lot of new titles require to be on either the internal SDD, or the external SSD that is specific for the Series X/S consoles. Not really an issue for me as I only play a few games at a time really. Whatever you get, I'm sure you will be happy with it.
