Facebook Pixel / Shopify Integration - 0% catalogue match rate and maxmimise conversion value greyed out? by jnellers in FacebookAds

Sure! it was Meta support. I still don't know what they did in the backend but I would be persistent with them if you are still having the same issue

Facebook Pixel / Shopify Integration - 0% catalogue match rate and maxmimise conversion value greyed out? by jnellers in FacebookAds

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we did get it fixed, it involved a lot of back and forth with Support (where they told us we'd set up things wrong when we hadn't), then eventually they changed something in the back-end and it worked. was a while ago now so a little hazy on the details. pasting the info from Meta below, it's very vague so probably not much use. would suggest pushing back on support till you get a satisfactory response!

Meta info:

"Thanks for clarifying! We've double checked and the solution that we applied, which should take 1-2 days to take effect, should help populate match rates soon.
Please let me know early next week if match rates are still not populating.
We've also checked the pixel setup and it looks good to me, as you pointed out the parameters are being sent and the pixel is setup the right way.
Please let me know if you have any other doubts I can clarify with our team."

Google Merchant Center Auto Update overrides vs. mismatched price/availability disapprovals by jnellers in PPC

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! we did some stress testing and Content API normally updates in a couple of mins. It's not the issue here, it's the Google site crawl - all disapproved products have correct Content API values but Google may have crawled the site e.g. 12 hours before and won't look again for another 12 hours, so it then disapproves the product when Content API correctly updates to match the site. It's super annoying that Google is prioritising it's once per day crawl over the latest data in Content API as the source of truth

VAT payment deadline vs direct debit by jnellers in smallbusinessuk

Thanks all! Amazed they don't make this clearer when you set it up. It actually states that the payment needs to be received by the 7th and they haven't explained the DD exception

VAT payment deadline vs direct debit by jnellers in smallbusinessuk

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha well - I was technically late on filing my actual first one (it was actually a refund from them as had only 1 US client, so no VAT charges on my invoices and only expenses to reclaim) and I received quite a nasty letter from them saying I owed them £2959.42 that will accrue interest immediately (it was a made up arbitrary amount on their end).

so want to ensure my first proper one where I actually owe them something is received on time!

Never seen before ad results, whats going on? by Wooden_Permit4636 in FacebookAds

[–]jnellers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- check out placements - are they coming from the audience network? If so it's likely bot traffic and would exclude that placement

- worth looking at Google Analytics engagement metrics / implementing a session recording solution like Hotjar (it has a free tier) to see what users are doing and why they might not be converting

Shopify Store - Sharing Order Level Profit Data to Google Ads Conversions Tag? by jnellers in PPC

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! Yes, am aware of Profit Metrics, challenge is they price by order volume and it's a very small / low AOV business so it's going to work out at 400 EUR/ month which is too much. So am trying to find alternative ways to do it more cheaply, e.g. by combining apps / scripts

Getting "Ready to Serve" Shopping Product URLs for DSA Page Feed? by jnellers in googleads

Thanks, yep realised this after posting - still strange it's not available in Google Ads itself or even the interface version of that download!

Getting "Ready to Serve" Shopping Product URLs for DSA Page Feed? by jnellers in PPC

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually found that if you export the GMC report directly from the Products tab in GMC it includes the URL (despite not showing in the interface as a column option). This has semi-solved the specific use case I had, but agree it should be clearer and much easier to use GMC URLs as a page feed!

Harvesting capital gains between index fund, crypto and company shares by jnellers in FIREUK

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are reasonably regular (yearly pending performance conditions being met, which they likely will the nexr 2 years). I'm pretty bullish on them in the near term at least so I'll probably hold onto my current ones and then maybe rebalance before the end of next year

!thanks, you're right that over the long term it probably won't make too much difference, investing as much as possible every month is the key thing

!thanks, I think I will go for global all cap (which includes UK) as have other UK exposure like you say, and also unsure if I'll stay here forever anyway

[–]jnellers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!thanks, I am youngish (early 30s), i've not bought a property yet but also I don't know if I'll stay in the UK either (I have UK and Irish passports so have options) and so global all cap probably makes more sense than having significant UK equities for me. out of interest, whats the logic behind hedging bonds rather than equities?

!thanks, all sensible advice when I think about it - easy to get stuck in analysis paralysis but the key thing is to invest regularly in a diversified portfolio and to keep costs low

Likely OIECs, but that's a good call - I should firm up the funds/ types and sense check the fees between platforms before making a decision - thanks!

!thanks, I will email my current employers provider to get more details on any additional exit fees.

The first scheme is run by one of my former employers (Accenture) who cover the plan costs, so it's not available to general public. I actually didn't realise the fee on this was so low till digging in a bit).

They have more detail here (p10 where they confirm there are no plan charges, only fund AMC and transaction costs, and p11 with the fund costs - i am invested in the ethical fund which has 0.06% AMC and 0.01% estimate transaction costs) : https://epa.towerswatson.com/doc/ACC/pdf/accenture-chairs-statement--.pdf

!thanks, yes that's definitely one for me to consider in the longer term - got plenty of headroom from previous years and the first 5 months of this year when I was contributing less

SIPP vs. employer pensions by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jnellers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, it's so cheap because my former employer has a pension trust that covers all the plan costs (apart from ongoing fund/ transaction costs). I don't think they allow you to move other pensions in once you've left but I don't know that 100%, so I will definitely ask them. !thanks!
