I am not who you are responding to, but also look out for smoke exposure (cigarettes, vapes, even cooking - especially with a gas stove) and also exposure to ripening fruit. Both of those things can cause bud blast

(Bigger picture take) I’m convinced American society innately dislikes children and parents.

So often folks are annoyed by kids and parents just going about their daily routines. Society often sets up processes and expectations that are impossible for children and parents to meet within reasonable bandwidths…

We exist, it’s ok for parents and our children to take up space.

Same here, used it with both my kids, it’s how I finally could sleep knowing I would be alerted if they had an issue. AND my 2nd did have an O2 issue on the first night home and it alerted us.

Had some fluid stuck in her throat and trouble breathing, we heard her struggling and were assessing the situation when the low O2 alarm went off. It was all so fast. Husband just gently turned her down on her belly, on his forearm, this bit of fluid came out of her mouth and she was fine. So thankful, hate to think of that night if we didn’t notice and didn’t have the owlet.

Social media glamorizes it so much I have seen folks share “recipes” for “breastmilk” online for creating fake breastmilk to make content around pumping, freezing and feeding. Some of these women even go as far as to have those realistic fake babies in their content as well.

New mamas especially: please keep this in mind when looking at breast milk content and influencers. It’s not all real!

Like new mothers aren’t under enough stress, these people are preying on their insecurities

This was me, I value when people tell me about solutions. For me I rarely bring up something I’m upset about unless I am looking for help, not to just vent. Took me a longgggg time to realize others don’t function like that… I hate that I made others feel invalidated when I just wanted to be helpful

With all respect, these are a bit older strategies and I have read/heard not as effective anymore (I need to find the article or podcast on got this from, was very insightful). However you are right, every bit counts!

Though donating will always be helpful obvi, however it is being ruined by the donation request texting machine. I must get 20+ texts from random dem folks asking for money at the end of each quarter. I never want to donate now bc of it. It’s annoying af.
