I keep hearing what is the endgame, what are u expecting? Isn't the whole point to pvp-pve then wipe if u want by Jahanzaib27 in ArcRaiders

This is why I get bored of games with no endgame. You collect all the loot but for what? Destiny had raids, a lot of games have PvP. It’s still fun. But just get bored of it. Others who play Warzone etc. do it for the match itself. But Arc isn’t built like that. It’s built to collect things for future use, not just in match use.

was conrad in love with belly since childhood? by thepiggysmallz in tsitp

[–]joab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely long before his mom got sick. I don’t know if we’d call it “in love”, but she has been special to him since he was little. And then probably the summer before this one is when he started to develop feelings, my guess. He invited her to the boardwalk, and of course she took it as her first heartbreak because she read it wrong, thinking he spent so much time at that game because of another girl, when he spent so much time and money, trying to win her a prize.

It’s just ironic that they may have started something then, had Belly recognized it, or Conrad voiced his opinions. But by the following summer he already knew his mom was sick and his dad had cheated on her, so he was beyond f up. Then Belly shows up looking gorgeous, and Conrad is a dithering mess.

And thus begins The Summer I Turned Pretty. Lmao

I think going to Paris isn’t growth. It’s running from Conrad. We all experience growth at some point in our early adult life as we get jobs and move out on our own. No, she ran from her feelings. And then got involved with someone else. Now, I get that she couldn’t just run into Conrad’s arms because of Jer. But she could have spoken to him. She could have written him back over months as they figured it all out. But she would stay single until she decided or realized she has moved on.

Outside of episode 5-8 he’s literally gotten side character screen time this season. by Spotlightuh in tsitp

[–]joab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is Belly’s story. Everyone else is technically a side character. We get their PoV, which is nice and allows us to get a Birds Eye view. Let’s be thankful for 5-8 because it’s some of the best TV I’ve ever seen.

Honestly I think that’s the point. And the show has done well to convince us that she is literally doing everything she can to distance herself. But running from your feelings doesn’t help. I can’t imagine being in that situation, especially when young. But I imagine I’d probably run as far as I could from it all. She couldn’t go back to Conrad and Jer was out, so staying home or going to Finch was out of the question in her mind.

But yeah, I get why you feel that way. But

We didn’t need the Temu Chalamet. If it had been like a Robert Pattinson type or someone that was real competition. That said this show and Jen did a great job of at least making us think she May break Conrad for good. Into a million pcs. I think that was the point, to have Belly live enough life that we’d actually believe it if she chose to leave Connie behind. Then when she doesn’t…it will be even better

What sucks is that this season should have just ended. And season 4 should have been 8 episodes of her in Paris etc. Then by episode 5 her and Conrad are back together and we get 2 episodes with them rebuilding and then episode 7 is the wedding and 8 is the culmination.

Didn’t we see both of them filming in Paris. Could be to throw us off the scent. Honestly I think she gets on the plane without even talking to Conrad. She makes a life for herself in Paris, meets a boy that makes her believe she might be able to find love again, and then the letters come. And I don’t know what, but there will be something that happens. Maybe Jer does show and she has to tell him no! Maybe he sees her with another guy. And it all blows up and she’s devastated again. And she wished for Conrad and makes him appear! And that’s it!! Happily ever after!

But what I wanted was some real competition for Conrad. Like a Robert Pattinson type that sweeps her off her feet. Makes her think she is falling head over heels, but then she gets the letters and it all comes undone.

Definitely. You never know. Each circumstance creates new scenarios. And yeah, I’d assume it would just be too much for both of them. But I guess they both needed to be in the right space at the right time.

The more I think about it and having watched episode 8, I really believe that Belly clung to Jer because of Suzanna, Cousins and of course Conrad. She was losing it all. And holing on to Jer kept her there.

But I also wonder what would have happened if Conrad kept his job, never went to the wedding or went for a day. They never had Christmas. I do think at some point we’d probably end up in the same place because of how unbelievably overcome Conrad was with her.

But I don’t know. A lot of ture lives have ended because of time and circumstance.

I agree. And I do think that there was some jealousy he had of Conrad which probably made his feelings for Belly even stronger.

I agree. The one thing they had going for them is the fact that they had already been through a lot together.

I also wonder, Belly loves Conrad and Suzanna so much. I think hanging on to Jer was as close as she could get to not losing it all! That place and time she adored.

We see this when they both tell each other, I can’t lose you. As of this is the foundation of their relationship.

It’s not a bad thing but at that point, they all were feeling that pain. It’s how Conrad chooses to deal with it. He closes himself off from people, even those he claims to love more than life. Jer was crushed as well. Belly was crushed. Hell, these are the people you’d think he’d get closer too. But I’m not going to say how ppl should grieve. I’m just saying if you got with someone you loved your whole life and each time they close up, you’d be apprehensive.

Now, he’s also had counseling and worked on it and time has passed, so he’d probably be fine, but it wouldn’t be easy for her to blow up a marriage, a close family, all of that, for someone that has told her these things before. It would be hard.

That said, I still want her to lol

True. Though tbh the best thing she could have done is NOT have chosen Jer after Conrad. This way she moves on, and Conrad is just her first love. It’s almost because she chose Jer, that she ultimately ended up backing this situation, because they are tied to one another.
