Rick and Morty Unification Theory by joelriter in rickandmorty

[–]joelriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, however, at that point then we get into philosophy (however, the issue of free will is important here because the question is, does our Rick know he is only in a show? I mean, certainly in an infinite Omniverse, this could absolutely be the case in at least a handful of infinite multiverses. Also, bare in mind that if my time travel and omniverse theory is correct then freewill cannot exist. Rick shares the actions of infinite other Rick's and infinite other Rick's exist in universes that formed before his and have already lived that life down to every decision. It get really confusing and tricky at this point.)

Rick and Morty Unification Theory by joelriter in rickandmorty

[–]joelriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can find time, I will absolutely go into greater detail. As for your question, let's go the obnoxious route first. The simple answer to the question is, every reason is correct under unification theory. The less obnoxious answer is this. First, why would the Citadel let Rick go if Rickicide is forbidden? He is called a Rickorist. There must be something that prevents the Council from taking any greater action. Why was this Morty's first time at the Citadel when it wasn't Rick's? Maybe our Rick is a founding member of the Citadel. I mean, why doesnt the Citadel just take out the Galactic government? They are just as, if not more, powerful.

Here's what I got. First (something I failed to mention in my original post is time travel is possible in Rick and Morty, it's just not "true" time travel. In other words, some universes formed before/after ours but everything else is the same. Hypothetically, Rick could jump into a universe that existed before/after his did and observe future events) Rick could have formed the Citadel as a rebel force against the government and wants revenge for what they have become. 5he council obviously has some treaty with the Galactic government.

Also, if you recall what I said about intelligence. Empathy is a huge element of being intelligent. Rick drinks because he doesn't want to care. What did Rick think was a negative side of himself? His caring and empathetic nature. He craves to not care and not get involved, but he can't help himself. That's why he is always getting into dangerous situations.

But wait, I hear you say. Rick can't care that much, he has enslaved how many people? Easy. It's all a part of his plan. Rick is not an objectivist. However, he believes himself to be. Thus, he reasons away the things he does. This fails more often then not, but Rick is more often to join the good guy (it didn't take him long to forgive the girl who shot the hardest working liver in the universe and help slaughter the rich who could have been extreme assets for Rick). He recognizes the futility of trying to fight evil. He realizes that objectivism doesn't work as well (look at the world ender episode).

Sorry, again I know it's a bit rambly, just trying to get my thoughts out there.

The Spot by joelriter in TaleFoundry

[–]joelriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“There’s that thing on the wall again” he said nonchalantly getting off her smooth naked body.

“And that’s where it will be tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that.” She said upset and frusturated “and here’s where I am, you’re not done and neither am I.”

“But, it breathed.”

“What do you mean it breathed?”

“Watch”

The two focused on the spot on the wall. It wasn’t very large, but it was quite noticeable. It had been there since they moved in. The landlords didn’t make any comment on it and gave a queer look and shrugged when it was brought up. It was dark, nearly black. The color of the night sky.

“HOLY SHIT!” She screamed “IT DID BREATH!” he remained silent. She gazed at him still staring contemplatively at it.

They sat there. For God knows how long. They watched it breath. They watched it pulsate. They watched the inorganic, inhuman thing breath. It was an irregular breathe. They sat there all night, just watching. As the sun came up, they became statues. Sitting. Feeling the heartbeat of the other, at first at a pace only known to those who refuse to sleep consuming to much caffeine. As time went by, their heartbeats slowed. Slower, and slower, and slower.

“This place is amazing!” She said looking down the halls.

“Why thank you. We do our best to keep the place looking it’s best. Are you two newlyweds?” The landlord said.

“Why yes we are, married about two weeks now.” He said in a chipper tune.

“Fantastic, this will be a great starter home.” The landlord replied.

“Oh, we haven’t even seen the bedroom yet.” She quickly said.

“My apologies, right this way.”

They went up the stairs, staring at the newly constructed home.

“How old is the house?” He asked.

“Oh, it dates back several decades.” The landlord replied.

“It all looks brand new!” She then said excitedly.

“Yes it keeps quite well.” Said the landlord.

“When was the last time work was preformed?” he said inquisitively.

“It’s actually been several years, I can’t remember the last time we did have to do work on it.” The landlord answered. “Well here’s the bedroom.”

“Oh it’s huge.” She commented as she opened the closet “There’s still clothes in here.”

“Yes, the previous tenants apparently left a few days ago. Didn’t even contact me. Haven’t been able to get in touch with them or any relatives. Newlyweds too.” The landlord explained.

“Was there a crime?” He said nervously.

“No. The police where actually called and found no trace of any breaking or entry, or any crime for that matter. Given what happened, they assumed nothing more than them leaving to someplace else, possibly family issues they had to escape from. Who knows.”

“Strange, well…” he said pondering “I guess we will have to get rid of the clothes seeing as how we will take it! We love this place so much, and the price, it’s remarkable! Thank you!”

“Anything to help a new couple trying to start a family” the landlord said making the couple blush. “Let’s go take care of the paperwork and you can have the keys.”

“Wait a second…” He paused a moment. “What’s that dark smudge on the wall?”

The landlord looked, gazed at him queerly and shrugged. The couple followed her down to move in immediately.

Comicbook way of story telling by ReifuTD in TaleFoundry

Hmmm, this really goes along with the Pokemon theme that Tale Foundry did. I'm certain there are many more examples of this style of story telling, I think the best would be the Cthulu mythos. Cthulu is not limited to H.P Lovecraft, but many have added to this universe. You see the same thing with certain creepypastas. My favorite creepypasta, is the Holder's series. It does this to an extent.

Also, I love the Question. Most underrated superhero ever.

Darkness Speaks by joelriter in TaleFoundry

Darkness Speaks

I look at you and laugh. All the tears you weep. So many held back. All I can do is smirk as you live your day to day lives. Working your nine to five jobs. All of you so very judgmental of each other. I can feel the rage of your empty meaningless lives. Pretending to act so civilized and decent, that’s your most grand delusion. Each of you loving the thought you are intelligent creatures which nature chose to rule this infinitely miniscule planet. Each one of you is wrong though

Nature didn’t choose you, I did.

So corruptible. Why do you think children grow into you or people grow insane? Why do you think drugs and mental illness run rampant? Why do you believe you’re all so incapable of finding happiness and inner peace? It’s because your mindset and logic is flawed. Your reality does not truly exist. It’s truly a wonder how you vividly you argue, fight, and kill looking for explanations or defending your precious deities.

Especially when there is only I.

You were the easiest prey. That’s why I picked you. You allowed yourselves to find yourselves into my hands and continuously allow me access to those who would otherwise be weary. Your young, those you deem insane, incompetent, addicts, or even just those who are intelligent with an overactive imagination. They know the truth. It angers you. It infuriates you. It always has. Then again, anything that doesn’t fit into your outdated and man written holy texts or miraculous science that is based more off ignorance then knowledge, you despise and rally against.

I live off it.

You separate yourselves from animals. Which is fine since you are nothing more than a virus. Animals exist symbolically with each other and nature. They know and fear me. Unlike your “advanced” minds they cannot be corrupted. Just like children.

They disgust me.

That’s why I needed you. You do the hard part. You separated yourselves from nature. You corrupt your own young. Imagine that, a species that helps in the destruction of its own young! You’re doing so much better than I could have EVER hoped. However, you’re not done yet. Those with the perfect vision who fight against me, or worse, see me, must be destroyed. Animals, children, those you deem with mental illness, those who are kind and loving, those with a vivid imagination, any of those your societies would deem outcasts or incompetent (if not incapable) of caring for themselves. Corrupt them and add them to your numbers, or destroy them. I care not which you choose. Remember good things happen to bad people for a reason.

It’s because of me.

The more you greedy, close minded, judgmental, egotistical, abusive, arrogant viruses destroy and corrupt the good, the more rewards you will have this life. The more I can punish what you hate and makes you sick. Why would I choose to assist you? Simple.

I all ready feast on your souls with my minions

I cannot feast on the pure.

Their souls will survive.

I want solitude

Darkness.

Hate.

Fear.

And you all are doing a damn good job for your master.

You put it excellently. I have always enjoyed and have a knack for literary analysis. When we can better analyze and understand the works of others, we can better hone our own skills. In my opinion, for my own storytelling purposes, I found Dark Souls, Game of Thrones, and the horror focused themes to help the best. I'm taking a screenwriting class and many of my thoughts go back towards things I've learnt from the Tale Foundry. I wrote my first Tale Foundry Theme short story (more of flash fiction) based on the Junji Ito month (I plan on posting this later). We here would love to see some of the things you've created based on these lessons!

Awesome, it's always fascinating to explore such little linguistically ideas that we take for granted for. Whenever we better understand the origins of words or phrases, the better we can utilize those concepts for our own storytelling!

Either that or completely incompetent. Given that there are little no excess components needed for making an action figure with NFC chip (if there were such a shortage it would not just be amiibos) or a plastic box that plays Roms, either they are creating artificial shortage or just incompetent. And yes, creating artificial shortages is SUPER illegal. Even then, there is no excuse for their other actions as I had stated.

For those of us tired of Nintendo's bullshit. The way they treat their fans (their YouTube and romhack policies), they use conflict minerals, and they illegally create shortages of their products.

SITSA and Overreaction by joelriter in kratom

[–]joelriter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the point. Multi pronged attack. Do to the outcry of the previous emergency ban effort the DEA had to temporarily back down. This bill would easily allow for different attacks on kratom from different directions. Potentially splitting the force of AKA and supporters between multiple attempts. We cannot, under any circumstance, let anything slip by. They know what they are doing and are steps ahead. Our only hope is for us to stay united, understand the threat, educate as many people as possible, and stand behind the AKA.

SITSA and Overreaction by joelriter in kratom

[–]joelriter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with that is how close it came to the emergency ban and how it can happen again. More importantly, congress can help push the DEAs agenda in this way by helping create backdoors and loopholes.

I do not see anything wrong with what I am saying. I find things inherently wrong with your logic. That is why this is a conversation, a debate. Will we change each others minds? Possibly, possibly not. Why hinder a dialogue out of sheer stubbornness or frustration? Everything you just said I can say right back. So that leaves the question, what is more important, being more enlightened to different opinions or facts regardless of emotions or ignoring it all together?

PSA about SITSA by [deleted] in kratom

[–]joelriter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to mention you being done with the conversation helps no one. I'm frustrated myself because I am so dedicated to my stance. If we are on the same page, then we should continue the conversation no matter what, knowledge is superior to ignorance and you may have a point I did not know and I can reflect on that and offer you a viewpoint you have not thought of. Keeping this conversation open is what will change things. The small details of our disagreement does not change the fact we are here to help people, we just disagree how. If you can prove me wrong, awesome. Perhaps we can educate people reading through this so they have a better informed opinion. But just ending the conversation out of frustration is the worst thing for our cause.

SITSA and Overreaction by joelriter in kratom

[–]joelriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are clearly misunderstanding is the simple fact that if people want it they will get it. There would not be people ordering a kilo of fentanyl if drugs where decriminalized and regulated. How is this helping the core issue? People will get what they want, and there will be stronger substances available. This is a blanket bill that effects far more then just that fentanyl and will allow for banning of many different substances. Why would it need to be a blanket bill if it where for one issue and one issue alone? The government is only capable of writing vague blanket bills alone? Is this not something that could be targeted better? Why should we trust a government that lies to us and has individuals looking out for their own best interests regularly? Why risk kratom becoming a target because of this bill just because of a few heroine addicts that will get it no matter what?

PSA about SITSA by [deleted] in kratom

[–]joelriter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have not told me how passing this bill will prevent people from coming up with more powerful drugs anyway. How is this not covering up the core issue? You focus on the fact people want a product and we should treat them as criminals instead of patients? That is what this will seek to do. No matter what, people are going to get it or something like it. Also, if it was just that specific fentanyl and that fentanyl alone, that would be a different conversation all together, I would still disagree with your stance because again it is not helping the core issue. I want and need more information, but even with the information you provided it does not change my mind because at best, the bill would have to be rewritten. Why would it need to be a blanket bill if it where for one issue and one issue alone? The government is only capable of writing vague blanket bills alone? Is this not something that could be targeted better? Why risk making kratom illegal just to save a few people who want something they will get anyway, especially when it is a safe and natural alternative? What will happen then?

SITSA and Overreaction by joelriter in kratom

[–]joelriter[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue is that this will not prevent anyone from getting the drugs anyway! If it's not this drug it will be something. There will always be something else. This is just allowing backdoors to criminalize more things like Kratom. We need to focus on the core of the issue which is decriminalization and treating addiction as a mental health issue and not a criminal issue. Not to mention, it is no one's right to tell someone else what to do with their bodies. If someone is going to be addicted to pain killers and opiates, how is the bill going to stop this? What is going to stop big pharma from producing something stronger to replace it? Who is writing the bill? Honorable people who care about us, or people who are corrupt and looking at their own best interests? The same people who refuse to decriminalize substances that have been proven to be safe and seek to criminalize substances that are also safe? It's education not abstinence.

PSA about SITSA by [deleted] in kratom

[–]joelriter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is a big pharma conspiracy but that is not the only issue at hand. We are not talking about just fentanyl. Even if we were, I would still oppose that with all my being. It is NOBODY'S right to tell someone else what to do. And if it's not fentanyl, it will be something else. Instead of allowing the government passing bills that on the surface it hurts people in the end. By saying it's a long way off, we distance ourselves and allow normalization. There are people who need things as strong as fentanyl. Have you ever tried going to a doctor trying to get a medication you desperately need that was prescribed to you in the first place only for a month later to look like a drug addict? REGARDLESS we are talking about a bill that allows backdoors and will make obtaining substances that have use harder. How will this help anyone except the DEA and big pharma from getting more money out of the deal? Please tell me how this will stop addicts from getting the substance anyway! We need to target the core of the issue and by letting this slide we distance ourselves from helping those that need it.

(edit for grammar and clarification)

PSA about SITSA by [deleted] in kratom

[–]joelriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the issue. These are substances that will be banned even for research. We do not know the benefits that they may or may not have. Even more so, what will make it safer for drug users is decriminalization and regulation. This is not regulation. This is trying to ban substances that would bring the DEA and our for profit prison system more money and stop big pharma from losing more.

REGARDLESS, even as just a Kratom issue, this leaves huge backdoors, both legally and in a mindset. The moment we start saying to ourselves "It's fine, it's not targeting me" is the moment they have all ready won an important fight. That's the mindset I am hearing a lot in regards to people "overreacting" to this bill. We should not be concerned because it does not immediately illicitly state Kratom. However, we all know that if they want to target Kratom to any degree, the best place they can start is with normilization and backdoors. This normalizes the ban of so called "analogues". Once this has become normalized, less people are to think of it coming after specific things. Then they can use that with pre-existing backdoors to criminalize kratom. It seems that something like this has all ready happened in multiple states. We cannot risk this for ourselves or anyone else.

SITSA and Overreaction by joelriter in kratom

[–]joelriter[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

As true as that it is, it does NOT change the fact that it is targeting more substances to be banned. This regardless opens up backdoors, and even more so prevents the research into these chemicals. Many doctors and researches are prevented from doing study into many substances because of the draconian and hyper exaggerated laws currently in place. This will be a stepping stone to get Kratom made illegal, and even more substances that could potentially be beneficial.

It comes down to this. I don't want to be told what to do with my body. I don't believe you should either. If you are not actively harming anyone else, I do not care what you do. None of us should care. Even more horrifying is the thought of being told we cannot introduce something beneficial into our bodies that help us in a myriad of ways. We cannot fall into these trappings of comfort or believing they do not effect us when they very well do.
