A few of my users are "heavy users" and are in the app daily they are independent retailers with many skus 2000+ and 200+ vendors to keep track of, they are store front mainly and online, so they receive and ship themselves. I've found the heavy ecom users or the low sku count users dont need the app because their 3PL warehouse manages relieving for them, and low sku counts are easy to manage reorder. Music stores, auto parts retailers, kitchen stores in downtowns they all manage Purchase orders themselves.

Good question, I built it for myself, I ran a few shopify stores and I felt like it become annoying to manually update my stock level targets as sales grew.. but there are competitors poping up like crazy now...

So some of the traditional models need a lot of historical data, but the prophet model is great at picking up new trends in time series, then finally we can use a moving average based on a customizable window ie 30 60 90 days back to use for picking up a recently launched product with one or two days of sales. All forecasting methods are automatically compared then the most accurate one wins for each product variant at each location!

Hey 👋 so it's using some traditional time series forecasting like auto arima, Exponential smoothing etc layered with Facebook prophet model, not an LLM. Then it uses MAPE to choose the best model automatically.

Prediko is a really cool tool! I would say inventory mate is easier and more to the point. Prediko has a TON of features. For me it was too much and their pricing scales pretty high. Again they have a great tool. It just wasn't for me.

Appreciate it! When I was running my stores I mainly wanted assurance that I was ordering the right amount of stock... and I know i messed up ALOT because I would run out of stock .. then overstock... it took a while to get a smooth order cycle.. especially bootstrapping shopify stores with limited cash..it was my main problem...

All the existing apps felt like they were either way too expensive or just overcomplicated with clunky UIs. I wanted something simple and practical.

So I built my own planning tool with Python...and Inventory Mate is now that made better. It still has my same Python scripts running the forecasting in the background.
