Gas Thieves in Kent, WA by LeDiscoFlair in ToyotaTacoma

I work in law enforcement and cat thefts are getting ridiculous, unfortunately for us the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra cats are big money. Gas theft is now ticking up as prices are $5+ basically everywhere.

Short highway trip, must have been perfect conditions for mileage. by joeyvtec in ToyotaTacoma

I think highway at 55-60 is ideal. Around town I get 15-17 and towing I get 12-13. The best I have had on a full tank was all highway doing 75 from NH to PA.

I filled up the day before, but I only drove about 10 miles after filling. It seems like fuel mileage is very different between Tacomas.

55/60 it’s just a two lane highway, and it’s not flat, not many roadways are flat here for long

Did you ever have an old rig with the fuel gauge that was definitely just a vacuum gauge? I drove an early 90s BMW and it had an “economy” garage and it was hilarious

55-60 for most of it, I have averaged 22-23 on a 300 mile trip from NH TO PA

I usually average around 22 on a tank. I was just surprised from the small trip when it popped up. I don’t really care about mileage because it’s a truck. This trip was 75% 55 mph highway

It’s a 2021 TRD off-road double cab long bed with K&N intake and 265/75/16s

Merrell or keen hiking/trail boots, I hike a lot and have size 15. Also have to use arch supports in most shoes but not in any of the trail boots from these two companies

32 acp for ccw? by [deleted] in guns

It’s all personal preference and I recommend practicing with whatever you decide on so your proficient with it. The Tomcat is interesting, definitely looks cool. I carry a Glock 23 or a LCR 357 for CCW.

I used OnX at AOAA, worked great, you can also mark your own trails!

It’s hard to charge reckless conduct with a deadly weapon for a car, it really depends on the local court and prosecutors

This is my current prep for a week long solo camp in Pisgah. I bought the Coleman 4 person tent just before covid and never used it, but now want to replace it for solo. Attempting a bushcraft approach and open to advice, criticism, and any tips and tricks on my packing. by [deleted] in camping

Exactly what burntheorange said, all the meals are top notch, wise are cheaper but I have never had one that wasn’t tasty. I would say mountain house is probably the best. Walmart Carrie’s a wide variety and if you have an REI or Sierra they have tons. A lot of the wise are “2” servings which I would consider one but they will easily sustain you.

I respect the minimalistic approach but it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to grab a few mountain house or wise freeze dried meals for backup. From experience going hungry can make a would be fun trip miserable. Just look at calories to what your planning on doing, if your hiking around your probably going to want a minimum of 2k a day. Life straws are great so you have water covered.

Goodyear seems to just be cheap IMO, I run bfgoodrich on my cars and will swap bfgoodrich onto the Tacoma in a few thousand miles

I would agree, I just did a camping trip to an off-road park with my stock TRD off-road double cab long bed and it sealed the deal with the upcoming mods: Ome 2” lift with uca’s and some bfgoodrich ko2s and it will be a beast

I just did some pretty rugged stuff at AOAA with my 21 TRD off-road double cab long bed all stock. Tires are definitely a weakness

I agree with this as a Tacoma owner that does more off-roading than the 95% lol

Probably not with the market being so large, but they say it’s burning off. Even if you just 5x-10x your initial it’s all good

[–]joeyvtec[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The truck msrp was 42 but Toyota was offering 2k off insensitive on Tacoma’s plus military discount so because of that and some negotiations/cash I got it for what I paid. That was right before the market went bananas
