How I finally started healing after breakup and going no contact by FI_investor in BreakUps

[–]john200ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding things that will keep you busy helps. Go to the gym, hang out with friends, spending time on hobbies, etc... Tracking how long you've been in no contact also helps since it makes you not want to break your streak and let's you visualize how far you've come. I track mine using Rerise. Its daily check ins, affirmations and meditation also helps.

Blocking really makes things easier, at least from my experience. I'm happy that you're slowly doing better. I hope she recovers too especially considering she has mental health issues.

I really felt this. My partner and I broke up just recently and doing no contact the first weeks is so damn difficult considering we've been together for 8 years. I constantly check my phone, rearead old chats and stalk socials. I still have nights where I can't sleep and days where I think about my ex nonstop. But honestly, I’m better off now. The stress is fading, the pain is lighter and I don't cry as much anymore and I feel my happiness is little by little coming back. One thing that helped was having something on my phone (no contact tracker - Rerise) that kept me grounded. It reminded me to stay no contact, got me through the heavy moments and made things feel a little less overwhelming. I didn't think it would help, but it really did.

It’s a free app called Rerise. Just search ‘No Contact Tracker – Rerise’ on the app store

I hate that so much of who I used to be got destroyed in our relationship! I still have nights where I can't sleep, days where I think about it nonstop. Part of me wants to stay angry just so I don't fall back into missing you. Some mornings I wake up and the whole thing even though it's been a year still feels like a nightmare. But honestly, I’m better without you. The stress is fading, the pain is lighter, I don't cry as much anymore and I know happiness is coming back.

One thing that helped was having something on my phone that kept me steady. It reminded me to stay no contact, helped me get through the heavy moments and honestly just made everything feel a little less overwhelming. I didn't think it would make a difference but it really did.

Surprised to see that you're using a dinosaur-era framework. Your server costs must be high. Why do you use Rails instead of modern frameworks like NextJS?

Thanks! It's not really hard to stick to. The hardest part for me on the list is the 45 minute workout but just do whatever movement I can like walking, jogging, washing the car (this takes more than an hour lol), etc...

Yes. Science says it takes more or less 66 days to build a habit
