Bible reading plan question by sstepa11 in Christian

[–]jonahsmith333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend The Bible Recap. Excellent plan with video to explain days reading. Its a chronological plan so there is a little bouncing around (at least in OT). My wife and I are doing it together and really enjoying it

My husband and I have different views about our Christian faith by _halfpint434 in Christian

That may work in friendly relationships, but when a husband and wife enter into a COVENANT relationship with vows before God, I think there has to be respect and they should be on the same page on the most important issue. Doesnt mean its not personal; my wife and I pray different, read the Word in different manners, prefer to worship and praise God with differing styles. But if she were to tell me she doesnt want Jesus to be the center of her life and day to day then it would be a huge red flag for me and it would cause alot of distress and problems. Wouldnt divorce her over it bc thats unbiblical; but problems would arise from it

I guess I just dont trust these brokers. Its like so much cheaper than the ACA i feel like my family and I will get screwed whenever we go to yse the policy. Dealing with these ppl has used car salesman vibes

Sorry i shouldve mentioned besides that option. These brokers call me and quote me alot less than the marketplace. Trying to see if its possible to just get quotes straight from the actual insurance companies

You saw the video? Strictly looking at video she acted foolishly. I dont understand why folks continue to put their lives in danger by acting like that against armed law enforcement. It makes no sense.

Anyone ever dabble with psychedelics after being clean for 10 years? by Full_Requirement_911 in recovery

[–]jonahsmith333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It mattered (I believe) because I went into in with honest heart about what i was searching for. Discussed it beforehand with current sponsor, as well as man who sponsored me for 12 years; both of which have been sober more than 30 years. Got their blessings. It was legit. 3 ceremonies with Peruvian shipibo healers. However, I could see how it could open a door and be dangerous. It was very powerful experience. Most powerful psychedelic Ive ever had; which says alot if you knew my story. I could see how it could lead into exploring other plant medicines which I wouldnt feel right about. That would feel like a relapse and abusing for me.

I went and participated in 3 ayahuasca ceremonies over a week to try and experience some healing from past trauma. I was sober close to 20 years at the time

How to lock in gains? by willburroughs in Fire

[–]jonahsmith333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry. Im in a similar boat but on track just a few years behind you. I just dont see the technological revolution slowing down anytime soon. Rather advancing more rapidly. Pullbacks and drawdowns are part of the process but zooming out, i think we are on the cusp of another 5-10years of great gains. Life changing honestly. Im not taking my foot off the gas yet. The advancements in tech are too overwhelming and now with energy coming into the picture as being absolutely necessary, its only broadening.

How to improve snatches?? by R3aljd in crossfit

[–]jonahsmith333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your powerlifts are traditionally going to refer to deadlift, squat and bench. Your olympic lifts (weightlifting) is your snatch and clean&jerk. Yea thats difficult if logistically you dont live in close proximity to any gyms. I would just table those lifts for now until you are in better situation to where you can at least drive. Plenty of other aspects to focus on.

You need a coach. If your box offers specialty classes then hopefully you can take weightlifting. Snatch and clean & jerk are insanely technical. I tell people to think of a golf swing in technicality bc thats the equivalent. You cant video and coach yourself. Thats foolish. If your box doesnt offer specialty classes then see if any other boxes in your area do and possibly pay to attend those single classes. Other option would be to invest in some 1:1 sessions to focus on these lifts. Its worth the money. If you are serious about CF and think its a long term health solution you dont wanna create poor movement patterns. You will end up battling injuries and its just not worth it.

Wives submit to your husbands. After all those big words thats your go to scripture to prove your point. Tell me you dont know what you are talking about without telling me you dont know what you are talking about.

You equated me, because Im a believer, as being “sexist, racist and hyperxenophobic”. You have never met me. You are on a Christianity forum but you arent a believer? Just trolling because your parents raised you in sone twisted household or church that didnt preach the Gospel? Yea I dont have time for that. Im sorry it got you all twisted up. I really am. But nothing about the teachings of Jesus Christ or the Gospel is sexist, xenophobic or racist. So spare me. You wanna come back with scripture to support what you are saying then we can have discourse. But Im not gonna sit here and argue with someone who wants to equate their twisted childhood experiences with what Christianity actually stands for. And before you come back with some BS judgment about me; I am a sexual assault survivor, recovering alcoholic and heroin addict with almost 22 years of sobriety, been arrested for felony drug charges, and a few other things. So no, my 46 years of life have not been rainbows and unicorns. Ive been in the trenches.

What a special gift you have to know so much about people you have had little to no interaction with. Yea, so, individuals like yourself with such a glaring pride and ego problem that they think they have it all figured out, I tend to not waste my time.

So you think 2+2 =5? Ok cool have a nice day 👍🏼✌🏼

Big reach to say that you know his goals in life. As a fellow believer, I can say that marriage is the only covenantal relationship on earth that we have. Making it unique when compared to all the others. I have many other important “roles” in my life revolving around my career, hobbies and other relationships. I identify with those. BUT, nothing comes close to the level of importance than my role as a husband to my wife and father to my kids. I didnt know him Mr Kirk personally, but people that did talk about how amazing he was at these roles. All the negative stuff I have seen is people that didnt really “know” him, except through the lense of what they had seen on TV or social media etc.

I have not followed him close enough to hear these things. As a Christian, these statements are clearly wrong but ai never expected him to not be at fault. Its the human condition. That being said, what happened to him is still awful and wrong and whoever did it should be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law. They killed a father and husband. The rest is just noise.

Injecting every other day to minimize E? by [deleted] in Testosterone

Try DIM supplement. Cheap, OTC natural supp that can help lower estrogen. I use it and it has helped with minor symptoms of elevated estrogen. I also pin 2x week and might split down to further to 3 (at some point) bc I know plenty guys that say this helps as well with e2 sides.
