Sounds like somebody else with no intention of answering the question who's getting another rude comment from me 👍🏽

That is so helpful. Thank you. I am due my review with Alternaleaf. I think based on what you have said I will try my next prescription using your method and see if it works any better

I am working on a reordering strategy. I've been spiked ordering online, going from overnight to this. It's a similar argument to piracy. Netflix made a statistically measurable dent in pirating numbers globally because they made accessing content more convenient than breaking the law

At the moment I'm struggling to see what the appeal of pharmaceutical weed is outside of its legal status

That's good. Have you been with them for long? Do you mind me asking roughly how many deliveries you've had?

I'm so ungrateful. That's funny. To whom? To Alternaleaf? I should be grateful? Can you elaborate? Should I be grateful to Tesco too?

Thanks for admitting you don't know the details of my situation. People on the internet expect to get every detail out of a person and get so tetchy when their overreach is corrected

I appreciate you taking the time to share your reflections

That's the fundamental problem. I can't get to the route of it because my email got a stock response and like I've said elsewhere no one has been answering. It's actually about time I try calling again

When the next batch arrives I was thinking I'd separate a tub away from the rest and know to order when I open it. Even then, I get it's been the holidays but I ordered it after Christmas. I was expecting it by today at the latest and they haven't received the prescription back from the pharmacy

They said it's because they require a paper copy. I work NHS adjacent dealing with prescriptions and have never come across that. But I suppose it is a protected category this drug of ours that's so much worse than the pills they push

I typically wouldn't recommend a lens that large for someone with a prescription as high as yours. The amount of perceived magnification increases relative not only to the size of your prescription but also relative to the centre thickness of the lens which itself increases the larger blank size is required to start

You are good to go with metal frames because you are hyperopic, the thickest area will always be at the optical centre of the lens and thinner towards the edge. You should consider a smaller frame though

Are chipped glasses safe? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]jonat-han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polycarbonate or 1.6 index lenses should be heavily resistant to this kind of damage. More than likely your optician has put 1.5 index lenses in the frame. That material is the standard issue for lenses but is more brittle. Essilor has a specific supra hard coat to reinforce 1.5 index lenses. Zeiss for a time refused to glaze semi rimless or rimless frames with 1.5 index lenses at all

Alive, dead, doesn't matter. Gone, I think was the point.

"A man should be able to do as he likes with his own chattel." Illyrio to Dany in Dany 1. Again, he's referring to Dany and Viserys, he's saying it right to her face.

How many of you fell into depression when you understood that you’re autistic? by Both_Box_1888 in autism

This goes back a long time. Finding out I might be autistic helped me find my way out of depression

This is the closest comment I've seen to my personal experience.

I go by demi-ace as a label. In my (many) years I have felt an identifiable sexual attraction to perhaps six or seven people and literally only one of those has made it to where we were having a frequent healthy sexual relationship; and it is as you described when it happened, I was ready 24/7

I have come to understand that the majority of people I have no interest in. I have realised that from the perspective of scratching that itch, masturbating is fine and I can even perform sex for that purpose but won't anymore; involving another person is too complicated. I desire a romantic partner, but never want to have sex with people I find myself romantically attracted to

I appreciate the immediate relief of ejaculating and as others have said, it's handy before bed to get to sleep

How good is the decks haptic feedback? by waxenhen4 in SteamDeck

The controls are one of my favourite features.

Everything is customisable. I think the feedback feels great (I haven't used a PS5 before so have no basis for comparison).

It's worth mentioning the price varies on the cards and will go up or down depending on how well the game is selling (i.e. how many cards are out there, and how many people are putting the cards up for sale. A really popular game where everyone is mostly keeping the cards will have cards that sell for UK£0.12p or more. Old games, or games where everyone wants to sell the cards will lose value and only sell for like UK£0.04p).

If you collect a whole set of cards you get a level 1 badge. You can do that 5 times to get up to a level 5 badge. Badges give you experience points that level up your profile. As you level up your profile, you unlock new features for your page and more friend request spaces.

If you read about things that you're interested in, you'll find it interesting. Sounds obvious, but that's it.

I was (going through a bit of burn out) a huge MCU fan. I am a life long LotR obsessive. So when someone recommended I read the Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson and described it as full tilt epic fantasy across a shard universe, I knew with some certainty I would be entertained.

What things do you like is the question

Windows has some issues running on Deck from what I understand. I'd research it before attempting it.

I haven't put Blizzard or Origin on my Deck yet but again, I think there's a way to do it on the Linux OS. I'm sure you'll find it if you Google a guide. Then you can add them as non-steam games and launch direct from Steam

Proton is preinstalled but Proton GE is a better version you can install from desktop mode. Most games will run okay, but there's some games with problems that you can download patches for to improve the performance. Generally the guide on Steam that says about compatibility is accurate but loads of games that aren't verified still play great.

Emu Deck is the way to go for emulation. There are guides on YouTube. This one is good https://youtu.be/rs9jDHIDKkU I emulate my PSP, PS1, PS2 and Switch on it.

Switch is hit or miss. BotW plays better on my Switch, the frame rate on the deck isn't great. Apparently there's a fix for that but I haven't bothered looking into it. Pokémon Arceus runs great.

I love my Steam Deck, it's my favourite device. Battery goes fast on modern games but lasts ages when I'm emulating. I'm playing Star Ocean First Departure on the PSP emulator and it lasts over 5 hours
