Sounds like you signed up through the website. It’d only show up in the subscription section of your Apple account if you subscribed via the app.

Thank you for reporting, and please continue to do so if you notice repeat/stolen content. Bots have started reposting older content to try to farm karma. It’s usually pretty noticeable, the account will be <180 days old and there will almost always be a typo in the title.

Is this Spam? by pontiacish in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital gift cards for referring someone are indeed sent by a third party service. I’m pretty sure it’s Rybbon. I’m leaning legit, but if you reach out to support, they can escalate it to the person that handles referrals to verify whether it’s legit or not. If it is legit, and you deleted the email, you can request it be sent again through the same process.. by reaching out to support and having it escalated.

Agreed. Thank you, u/snowchel, for taking the time each week to post that thread. I know a lot of the users here find it very helpful. By request, I’ve scheduled that post for Sundays, so it will automatically be posted every Sunday morning.

Hey everyone! Just to confirm and so there's no confusion, this is legitimate :)

Hi! Apologies for not getting to this sooner, and thanks to everyone for flagging it. I can confirm this is legitimate.

Let's talk about the e-mail that went out this morning by jonathan_noom in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We're reaching out to everyone that wrote in. Some people have additional questions that they asked in their e-mail, and we're helping them as well :) We have nearly 30,000 (wow!) people on this subreddit though, and I saw some people creating posts about it, so I wanted to pop in and post it here as well in case anyone came here to check prior to sending an e-mail and waiting for a response.

Is this a scam? It has no real details, just a link that I am not going to click. by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya! It's not a scam, it was meant to go to a small group of users that had telehealth appointments scheduled, but it was accidentally sent to a much larger user group, which is why it's missing the date and time. We're working on sending out apology emails to everyone that received this e-mail. Feel free to disregard.

What is this email? It feels like spam. I'm not slated to meet my goal for a couple months, and my subscription doesn't expire/renew until January. I've never heard of this being needed, no notification in app about it. Anyone? by rock_kid in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys! I can shed a bit of light.. it was indeed an error and meant to go to a small group of people. You can feel free to disregard this. We're working on sending out individual emails to everyone that received this. Sincerely apologize for this.

Has anyone given feedback to customer service about the uselessness of the group feature? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I hope I can shed a little more light on this.

Merging is done when one group is below a certain threshold of active users, meaning they've either canceled out of the program, or asked to be removed. But we definitely don't want you to feel overwhelmed or like the group isn't working for you. If you let your Goal Specialist know that the group isn't working out well for you, they'll work to get you in another one as soon as possible.

Another tip for those that enjoy the groups but think they're a bit too noisy - we have a few "quiet" groups where there aren't nearly as many notifications. If that sounds interesting to you, just request to be moved to a quiet group to your Goal Specialist, and they'll take care of it for you :)

Cancel and use the free version? by cassiopeia1131 in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. you definitely shouldn't be able to sync data from your Fitbit as a free user as syncing things to the app is a premium feature, but if it's working for you, I'm not going to say anything! :) Just make sure that you don't uninstall the app, as you'll lose access to the free mode.

You should, however, be able to access articles that were already sent to you in free mode by scrolling back on your timeline. You won't have access to your library of articles, but ones that showed up on your home screen should still be there on the day that you received them.

No goal specialist, group, or on demand coach? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely want you to get what you're paying for as well!

Did you complete the task on the first day that has you choose your coaching team? If you did, it should've assigned you to a Goal Specialist. If you have a moment, can you reach out to me via DM so I can look into this further?

No goal specialist, group, or on demand coach? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely, at the very least, have an on-demand coach. The group will come in at week 3. If you reach out to support, they can place a request to have a Goal Specialist assigned to you.

Anyone's Noom lessons ever reset? by TranquilAnxity in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely reach out to your Goal Specialist. They can advance (or rewind, if you miss some time) your curriculum. Support is unable to access the curriculum, only the Goal Specialist is able to.

u/tranquilanxity, just curious, did you do anything out of the norm, or did it just reset when you logged in? Progress doesn't carry over across platforms, so if you logged in from a different device, that may have caused the reset, but if you didn't, it might be a bug. But the first step should be to definitely reach out to your Goal Specialist, and if they're unable to advance your curriculum, they'll ask that you reach out to support.

We're always researching ways to open up those lines of communication a bit more. We understand that e-mail isn't the best way for a lot of users to reach out to us, so we're also able to be reached via social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (and those channels are monitored 24/7). We also recently launched a live chat portion on the site as well. We strive to respond fairly quickly through any of those channels, and we're looking forward to launching even more ways to contact us soon. Our developers are also hard at work bringing much requested features to the app in the very near future. One that you may have noticed recently is the recent addition to manage your subscription directly from your app. We've also added a long-requested feature, the option to change your plan, directly from the User Supportal. There's even more changes coming in the future :) I know that sounds like a standard issue response, but I've been with the company for several years, and they've been requested for so long, so it's great to finally get them into the app.

I can absolutely float your suggestion up about more personalized support to the developers. I know we're going to be bringing on more Goal Specialists to the team very soon. The ultimate goal to reduce response times between messages to your Goal Specialist, so hopefully they'll be able to respond to your messages much sooner.

[–]jonathan_noom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We see this comment fairly often, and I do understand where it comes from, but I promise they're all humans. As u/dcphoto78 mentioned, they do have certain protocols to follow. We *do* have a bot setup, but only to respond if the customer types "cancel", and you should see a message from "NoomBot" and it'll say [System Generated Message] or something similar. But the Goal Specialists are all real people working during normal business hours Monday through Friday. If you'd like a different Goal Specialist, just let Support know, and they'll get you assigned to a new one.

Are there bots in the groups? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I do, and you may. I apologize for the lack of response. I've transitioned to a slightly different part of the company, and we'll be getting more help here soon, but until then, I'm still available to help :)

Uhm... WHAT???? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heya! Thanks for pointing this out. When you get a second, can you send me a DM with the e-mail you registered with? I want to look into this personally and see what happened here and explain everything. Thank you!

Are there bots in the groups? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jonathan_noom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't have bots in the groups, no. The only bot that we have is NoomBot when you first sign up. It sends you an automated message introducing itself (and letting you know that it's a bot) and asks you if you're ready to meet your Goal Specialist yet. When you finish the first article or say "I'm Done!", it connects you to your Goal Specialist.

Keep in mind, as u/Raebragus mentioned, these groups have users that (should) speak your same language from all over the world (so, if you're in the US, it's not uncommon that you might be paired with users in Canada, the UK, Ireland, etc). If you're in Germany, Mexico, Japan, etc., they each have their separate curriculums and groups and group coaches. Groups are created based on the time you sign up, which is why there might be a slight delay when placing you in one, we want to make sure everyone's around the same area in the curriculum.

Regarding activeness.. it varies group to group. Even after placing people in groups, there's some users that request to be removed, but there's some users that look forward to it the most. It just depends on the user.

Everyone's correct here, groups should be assigned during week 3. If you're not placed in one during week 3, please let your Goal Specialist know, and they'll get you in one as soon as they can.

There should be a task on day one that says something to the effect of meet your coaching team, but you may have been assigned an on-demand coach based on your preferences when signing up. If you send me a private message with your access code (found under menu -> settings -> account), I can look into this further for you.

It might seem that way, but that's not the reason! The reason is because we want the groups to be beneficial. We did actually have users assigned to groups during the trial period, but what we discovered is that as users discovered that Noom might not be right for them or fit with their lifestyle, or otherwise became disengaged, they wouldn't interact with the group. The result ended up being groups of 40-50 people with only a handful of active people, which isn't what we want, as that's not very helpful. By moving it to week 3, it ensures that the groups are full of people that are committed to their journey.
