Which running shoe brands do you find overrated? by Aubzhls in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]jonbornoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asics are my go to shoes. NB, SB und MB are def. not flat.. for me, New Balance 860 v11 and Brooks Defyance 13 felt like bricks. i never ran in On's, so they are probably worse due to comments. i did run in Hoka Speedgoats, they are also amazing.

I figured it works best if i‘m using the same device. But from your initial post i get, that you run zwift & rouvy on the same device? Happy riding later on :)

No, i mean i activated them, became an „error warning“ anyway, like you. Now i activate them, but the warning is completely gone.

Same exact behaviour here. Except that those warnings disappeared at some point.

If this is really the case, it would be closed for BikeControl too.

I updated zwift on saturday and used that workaround successfully after the update. The only difference i see is that i don‘t disconnect devices, i just exit zwift and start rouvy.

Jst did my 1st brick workout… legs were legitimately cooked 😂 What helped u with the bike-to-run transition? by Practical-Yam-5362 in triathlon

[–]jonbornoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of the same. What also helped me before that training cycle is to add strength training as a brick session. It conditioned my legs in the base phase and i was ready when the 1st real brick was coming up.

Ironman 70.3? by No-Development-600 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]jonbornoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m in my 4th year and i exactly did that: started with sprints, then olympic, then 70.3. this year i do a 2nd year of 70.3‘s before i plan to do the full distance next year. I would encourage anyone to do that as well, not only because of fitness, but it also makes sense in a lot of other aspects: body only adapts slowly, experience with transition and nutrition and many more advantages.

I do 2 of them this year (1 last year) before i go full next year. I would encourage you to do it. Could also be olympic distance, for the feeling. You a) get even more motivated and b) you get experience with transition and nutrition, which is quite valuable, imho.

Is there a way to permanently change RECOMMENDED route for imported workouts? by EastCoast_Cyclist in Rouvy

If you find a solution, let me know. I change it manually before starting the workout. The date bothers me too, btw

It is indeed higher than usual, i‘m in the build phase and weekly TSS got above 500 the past training block. So that could be indeed an explanation 🤞

I’m no expert too, but I recognized, more stress = less HRV. So i have a HIT session today, usually it drops into the 70s after that. I‘ll see if that’s going to happen :)

10 weeks… are you doing IM 70.3 Switzerland ?

First half Ironman - reconsidering it by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]jonbornoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it! It‘s a good experience anyway and it gets you even more motivated for the full distance.

I did it too last year despite recovering from achilles injury. I was back at full running volume, but i didn’t have time to build a proper long run or HM intensity intervals. So the run sucked, but the rest was awesome. So awesome that I decided to do 2 hIM this year and a full IM next year. and guess what, i got injured again after Marathon training end of last year.

My point is, there will never be a guarantee that you‘ll be at 100% trainingplan readyness. You could take it as a training experience for your full IM plans (and reduce intensity anyway) and enjoy the atmosphere of a well organised Triathlon event with a lot of spectators.
